Hey guys and gals I am new to the growing community but I think I got this down.

Now I see alot of talk about watering every 3 days or 5, etc.
How I should ventilate it. Lots of variables there. what soils to use.. etc etc.

Well I took all that information to heart and started my first grow in June (no pics available)
My first grow I only had a stupid 250W light all through veg until i seen preflowers and then for the fisrt month or so I had it in Flower with and actual 400HPS with wing reflectors... That plant.. for its entire life went strictly through soil .. no nutes added or anything. Just the soil, water and light, along with ventilation.

Not gonna lie, it was an ugly plant and would have finished until i took advice from somebody talking about trimming leaves off to allow light to get exposed to the bottoms of my plants. For this grow I have 6 E26 CFL's lining my closet with adjustable heights so i can penetrate the lower parts of my plant. Don't forget I have my 400 W light too, lol.

NOW I am on my first REAL grow. I say "REAL grow" because now i have everything I need. Still using standard MG soil though. with really low Nutes in it. Had 400 MH for veg and Have 400HPS for flower.

Starting off I did not add any nutrients to my seedlings until they were 2 weeks old (above soil) and then I started adding 48-0-0 at 3/4 a tablespoon. Got a slight nute burn at the tips of the leaves but then about 3 days later when the soil was starting to dry out i cut it back to a half tablespoon. and gradually increased it to a full tablespoon throught the rest of its Veg life (Started showing preflowers at 29 days veg so i flipped the switch) my two girls are now in day 19 of Flower and is a beauty (BTW im growing ak-48)

I use aluminum sulfate to keep my Soil PH betwwen 5.8 and 6.5.. I get this gut feeling to keep it close to 6.3 though. And my flowering nutes.. Macro Nutes are 15(N) 30(P) 15(k) and then of course the micro nutes... my plants are 46 days old (from the time they poked out above soil). Here is just one pic. what do you all think??

Few more specs/facts. usually about 79 degrees in my grow room and gets down to about 65 at night.. with winter coming ill have to figure out how to regulate the temperature in there. constant air circulation. no CO2 injection needed. there are 8 pairs of lungs in this house. so there is plenty of carbon dioxide.. two of those pairs are dogs.. as you can see my dog cleaning himself in the picture below (not intentional)

From the information I have provieded. if there are any questions/concerns or maybe even tips anybody wcould offer, let me know eh?

It's in the correct section, I think. Grow Log, right?

Welcome to cannabis.com, adr. I'm looking forward to your grow log. I hate Miracle Grow and Monsanto so I'll not comment on any nutrition related topics with your grow though. :hippy:

hahaha... well the thing with miracle grow.. is you might as well toss out all the fancy pants nutrient supplements. they dont work well together since MG is all time released.

anyhow your plant looks fine. start another one while your at it, in case your worried

your pic is so small,, is that thing flowering?

you need a bigger pot for that sucker,

add milkbone's to soil (just kidding) might raise the co2 level

Would that be a brindled Plott Hound I see in the left corner of your pic? From what I can see of him, he looks just like my Carly. & yeah you need to pot up one size. Slip it out without disturbing the root ball, add enough soil in the bottom of the new pot to bring plant up to proper level, add new soil around sides & water in well. The reason I'm stressing not to disturb the roots, is that at this point, the last thing you need is transplant shock. As soon as new roots hit the new soil, your buds should have a growth spurt. :) ~~~ PEACE! ~~~

Yea like i said. i bought the soil with very low nutrients in it.so even though they are time released they arent affecting it too much. I have been adding them just right as far as my fertilizers go so its working out.. these are in 5 galloners.. u think i need to up the size of the planter?

No, that is a Brindle colored half german shepard half pitbull mix, and he is one of the gentelist dogs i know. Had him since he was 8 weeks old. He got parvo shortly after I got him but I nursed him back to health. Unfortunately his growth was stunted due to the parvo, but he is still my little guy.

So I have finished my first grow!

Not really sure how to post this as a grow log but I'll do my best!

Strain AK-48. Date Originally Planted September 19th. Date harvested Dec 3rd for one plant and december 7th for the other.
I kept the soil at approximately 6.3. By the time I fed each plant again the soil PH was almost back up to 7.0. I fed every 5-7 days depending on how fast the soil wanted to dry. It was usually every 5 days though.

The pictures I have below are of the plant that put out the least.
The girl I harvested first actually got a bad case of over nutes about 2 1/2 week into flowering.. leaves lightened in color. But the funny thing is. I got a bigger yield from it than I did from the one below. And it had tons more trichomes. Anyway, the picture below, i still have to weigh it dried out but from the looks of it I probably got a half ounce less than my other tree. and I was 2 grams shy of 2 1/2 ounces on my other.so in 2 plants I got over a QP. That good for a first time?

I don't smoke marijuana, but I did alot of that growing up. My wife is the tester. I am growing it for her, completely my idea too. I hated spending money on pot. After supplies and everything i needed for my grow. with the prices of pot around here. I just about broke even from this grow. At least as far as money saving goes. My light bill didn't go up too much either!

296533 First Photo of Flower This is the first photo I took of one of my trees in flower. it's the same picture at the top of this thread!
296532 Christmas Harvest Little decoration for the holidays.
296534 Plant 1 Supercola. This is from the tree that got nute problems a little ways into flower
296535 Plant 2 Supercola And this is from the picture above.

If you need any more information.. if it can't be answered from the very first post on this thread just ask. I encourage you to ask. Because I am excited about my first time and I want to talk on here with some seasoned growers.

O. I also harvest as soon as half of the trichomes were milky colored. Wanted a more head buzz than a body buzz. That's how the wife likes it.

HAHA very cute dog, nice to see him showing off the goods on the bed! Glad to get enlarged pics, the plant looks very nice and I hope the wife enjoys the fruits of your labor!

Future plans/upgrades?

My wife says its pretty good and a few of my friends that I gave it to say the same thing. So now that I got it figured out and know what to do, I will probably harvest my next one at about the same time as I did this one and will stick with the same strain for a while so I can learn a few tweaks to make my grow a little better
