Im looking for a cheap energy efficient light for starting seeds. The plan is to use one of those small plastic indoor greenhouses with jiffypots or smth similar for the seeds all i need now would be a nice little light for the seed propagator.

Im talking about a surface are of maybe 30x20cm.

Fluorescence tubes. T12, T8, or HO T5 tubes in 6500k.

Works great the first 2-3 weeks of vegging.

Then, you need stronger light: like HID or sunshine. :cool:

ps: HO T5 6500k

4ft. tube(each)
T12= 40 watts
T8= 32 watts
T5 HO = 54 watts

my question pertains to this topic...i know the T5 works for seedlings but my question is...Is an LED full spectrum good for seedlings or should i just use the T5 then two weeks change the lighting...ive heard it could shock them if i dont start them from sprout on the LED...? im not really buying it but thought id run it by yall. is this fact or fiction...
