Seeds seized by customs

So after gorilla resent the free seeds they left out my first order i was like a kid at xmas waiting
I picked up the package to see a us customs tag on it
When i opened the packaged all was there except the seeds a letter enclosed saying the seeds where seized and destoried. My guess growing on the white house lmao

So now what? I emailed Gorilla no answer yet. My bigger worry is were fixing to reorder. Since our first grow is goin good and we got a bigger house. Two walk in closets bigger then my own room and a garage planning a bigger order prob few hundred bucks worst im worried if this happens again ill be out all the money i spend

I'll make sure they see your email - give me the last 2 digits of your order again.

Whenever you're ordering from outside the country, you run the risk of a customs seizure - the only good thing about it is they don't do more than take the seeds.
I'd suggest that you break up any large orders into smaller ones & stagger them out so that you don't have multiple packages coming on the same day.

I was told that our shipping department is working on stealthier packaging as well - so you might also want to wait until I know more about it.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to say exactly what they're going to do here because you never know who's reading a public forum.

You can ask through the regular email process if you want, but I'm not sure they'll have an answer right now.

I'm east Coast, and have never had a problem, packages come through NY. I have heard of quite a few seizures of packages coming in through other 'ports. Chicago is kinda notorious for interception.
If you're served by the seemingly higher risk entry points, maybe recruit a friend who is served through NY? Once it's stateside, getting it where it needs to be is a breeze. Holidays coming soon, too. That usually helps. :thumbsup:

I live on the East Coast too & have never had a problem with seizures when I make personal orders.

It would be great to know what parts of the country are harder - like Chicago.

I have the inside scoop on the customs issues.

Apparently, customs has seized a high number of our shipments over the recent few weeks.
Seems someone new in the shipping department did not follow our procedures & put something on the customs document that indicated the package contained paraphanalia.
I'm sure that was a red flag to check the packages.

That little problem has been corrected & they have a new packaging method for international shipments that should help.

I apologize for the error & I've been told they'll get your seeds replaced as soon as they get to your email.
If you don't get a response by around Wednesday, let me know & I'll give them a little push.

In a twisted kind of way, this was lucky for you - If it were me, I'd rather see the problem happen & get corrected with a few freebies than with a big order.
However, I still recommend you split up a larger order - If doing so puts you out of any free seeds, let me know.
I'll work it out for you - let them know you split the order on my recommendation & see that you get what you're entitled to.

Thanks i really appreciate it. The last two are 66. And i agree better to happen with freebies then a big order. I will split it up on my orders like u recommended. Thats a very good idea. And id agree with time between orders.

Yeah - that was the problem. Someone thinking they were doing a good job, but they were obviously clueless about customs.
Most of our orders are still within the UK, so the international shipping is a learning curve for some.

I don't think they'll make the same mistake again.

In addition to customs, that breaks our discreet packaging policy too - incredible.

sometimes, breeders permanently discontinue some strains - we don't take them down just in case they change their mind.
it happens, but not often
