First Time Grower!!!!

hey im a first time grower and really want to get into it...i want to know how to start......wat kind of lights?(How many Watts?) what kind of soil?(wat do i need to add to it?) how long dark how long light?
im really just trying to figure out the basics i want to start with 2 plants only because im doing this in my closet just to get the hang of it....i mean gotta start somewere!!
