I have six outdoor girls.. 3 bf pineapple chunk girls, a delicious Carmelo, a Thai, and a headband (supposedly) the headband is a weird plant to begin with it almost doesn't even have a main shoot? Its branches are all real low and as tall as the main almost like something that was fimed 5 times or something!! All the plants seem great right on track they are all about 6.5wks into flower but they are in a woodsy gully that this time of yr isn't very sunny:-( and the headband started leaning over and I thought wet bud was weighing it over but it turned out there's not nearly enough bud there to do that, I also thought it could be stretching toward light? But Ive been watching it the last two weeks and it has amber trichs and I spent about an hour on ten occasions looking for new white hairs and cant find ANY new white hairs AT ALL im gonna post some pics for opinions hoping good peeps can help whats going on!? Or is she just that fast of a flowering strain!??
295041 this shows the plants lean i was talking about...
295042 as you can see ALL the hairs are brown now..

yea, that's what a few of my plants look like outside being re-vegged
I would say..
outdoor growing season change
growing outdoors, the plant can preflower for a long time before the seasons fully change to get the nice full flowers, even if it is 6.5 wks. those look like they are still in the vegging cycle with some enormous pre flowers. wait until the season fully changes and see if they explode.
could also be strain related
also you could feed it some 0-10-7 nutes or something to that effect, this will make more white flowers pop up, I use a 0-30-20 during flowering. twice. 1st week & 2-3 weeks before harvest

How could colas be preflowers!!?!? Thats insane u serious!!?!? So it is or isnt ready!?? I give bloom booster 0-15-10 here and there between nutes... and again like a said even with bloom booster no new flowering in almost 2wks now all the sacs are sooo swollen they could burst, all signs are there I mean I hope ur right and that it will explode but where im at (location) summer is... aside from a few decently warm days, pretty much over! These girls bloomed really late it seemed like... Does that mean anything??

Im hoping to get atleast a couple responces on opinion in correlation to the pics I posted so I can gather a general concensus!! It seems like nobody ever answers to the things I need help with most and fast.. the last thing I need is to ruin these girls!!!

I don't understand the question, Burt. If you have amber trichomes all over the plants I'd have pulled them by now. I like mostly cloudy. But, it's my personal preference for my medicine.

Thank you for the timely responses and I'm just asking if you could simply judged by the photos if that plant looks ready to where I should harvest now, or if u think I should wait to see if the buds have one last growth spirt? I am disappointed as the buds are very small but I think thats in the fact that as it got close to the end of summer where they're located the sun is blocked by trees so for the last few weeks its only been getting a couple of hours of direction light a day and im wondering if they are only gettin a few hours of sunlight a day can the buds really even plump up that much more at this point anyway? Just trying to figure out when to harvest for optimal product:-)

also another question on the same topic what would you do if you had a girl they had 50 percent amber trichomes but still didn't have very many hairs it was around and it was growing mass amounts of new white hairs daily would you chop it because of the amber trichomes what would you let it go because of all the new flower growth? Because my carmello is 40 amber 40 cloudy 20 clear but its plastered in new white hairs with only a few brown hairs here and there and many more daily (white hairs)

You can sure get late season growth, in fact if all is good the buds can pile new growth and make you some weight, but the lack of sunlight will limit. Watch for frost.
Like weezard I do like to use my nose, looking at colors I usually wish I'd waited a week.

you also can start harvesting some top buds and leave some and see how the medicine compares.

So what about my carmello?? Like i said my carmello is 40% amber 40% cloudy 20% clear trichs but its plastered in new white hairs with only a few brown hairs here and there and many more daily (white hairs) and she has actuall started (about 6 days ago) turning purple.. and no its not a deficiency its been getting to the low 50s at night here and days are mid to high 70s (farenhieght) and carmello has lavender parents... sorry that was off topic but, when u have new growth thats heavy but mostly amber trichs do u harvest because of the trichs or do you wait because of the growth!??

It's a judgement call. This happens often. I found some sativa strains still keep on putting out blooms (fresh pistils) even at 14+ weeks of flower. Also, these often do not go amber. So I take them when I get tired of watching them and I want to get the harvest in.
Also, I don't try to go for high % amber. I prefer that the clears have mostly gone cloudy. Of course the plant does what it wants so I'll pick when there are still some clears.
