Hey, I wanted to introduce myself before I went posting anywhere else. I've spent the last 9 years working in nurseries, first as a loader (I was one of the guys that maneuvered 30 foot tall birch trees into minivans and mature japanese maples into the backseats of Honda Civics), and eventually as a salesperson and horticulturist. I've always been fascinated with different propagation methods, and last year successfully air layered a few of my japanese maples and had a 50% success rate with grafting apple trees. I saved a friend's plants several years ago (he had them under a single 8" flourescent fixture) and took them all the way to flowering without any significant problems.

I'm currently living and working in a hostel in Quito, Ecuador, but before I left the US I had my medical certification in the state of washington. Since I've been in Ecuador, I've seen quite a bit of poorly cured bud. Most of it seems like it comes from hybridized strains, but every once in a while I see something that looks like a very sativa heavy strain. I've been toying with the idea of trying to collect some seed while I'm here and bringing it home in preparation for a medical grow (once I get my certification renewed).

I've been lurking for quite a while, and I'm glad to be able to say hi to everyone. I hope to learn, learn, learn, and hopefully help out with some of my more general horticultural knowledge.
