I had an interview about two weeks ago. I honestly didnt think I was going to get the job so I continued to smoke. I got a call on tuesday asking if I could come in for a second interview. I was up alll night and decided to smoke half a blunt at 5am so I could go to sleep. I finally went to sleep at 7 but had to be at my interview at 10. I got the job but he told me to come back at 3pm for a drug test. My bf told me it was most likely going to be a mouth swab test since it was done at the job location so he told me what to doo. I drank my usual cup of coffee and smoked a cig. around 1pm, we ate in n out. we were on our way about 2:20. the whole way, I ate a shit load of ice to cleanse my mouth and before I walked in, I ate another piece of ice. I barely swabbed my cheek and bullshitted the remainder of the time by holding it in my mouth and breathing on it. The brand was intercept. I read that thc doesnt stay in saliva that long so it was a 10 hour window from the time I smoked and had the test. I am so freakin outtt. I am never smoking again. This shit scared me straight. What are my chances of passing? Pleas help. I have to call monday for the results. Thanks in advance.

I was dumb and didn't realize the link I posted also had items for sale. Thank you Mod for reminding me the rules.
Anyway, since the whole post was deleted, I'll restate my generalized findings.
According to a few sources easily found on google, the maximum detection time for saliva tests is between 12 and 24 hours. This has very similar dependent characteristics as urinalysis does, such as an individual persons body mass, metabolism rate, and general body chemistry. using ice to flush your mouth would seems to be a very similar idea as to dilution.
Getting as little saliva on the swab as possible was a good idea. The less that is collected, the less likely it is that your saliva was even tested. This is a similar problem that can occur if your saliva is too viscus, the swab will not be able to properly test the saliva.
Being as you are on the cusp of the detectable time frame, I would say it is likely you have passed, but of course we don't know until you get the results.
I encourage you to post the result when you get it! Good Luck!

Lol instead of me calling the job, the lab called me and told me I tested positive for marijuana. I said I breastfeed my baby, {lie} and that it was a false positive. Then she asked me if I had glaucoma or cancer and I said No then she said, well, you failed and i'll be contacting the business on your behalf. Lol Oh well. !

I used to not only perform drug screens for large companies, I also taught people the entire COC rigamaroo....
Saliva tests have a very high incidence of technical error, if the technician does not get a good enough 'scraping' of the cheek then a proper sample cannot be obtained. False Positves are rare from technical error though, unless they got the papers mixed up. Saliva tests are also not recognized by many courts, including DOT guidelines, because there is only 1 test run rather than a test, the a confirmation.
Depending on your state you could take it to court and WIN, but not worth it for a pre-employment, just keep that in mind in case of an injury....

I'm so sorry to hear that you tested positive. I'm personally looking at quite possibly failing a urinalysis, but for odd reasons. Good luck with your future endeavors. Also, crystaliscious, thank you very much for the first hand information.

Smoke everyday practically. Only been doing it for a little over a year. Smoke about everyday. Got an oral drug test tomorrow afternoon. Refrained from smoking since yesterday night. Plan to brush my teeth profusely and gargle with mouthwash/peroxide before..I should be okay right ?
