Germed on paper/how long before pop thru dirt

For those who germinate on wet paper etc, how long after you bury them approx 1/2" below soil for them to pop above ground? It has been 48 hrs since I put germinated seet/root in dirt. I figured it would be showing by now.

It's close to popping through. I try and barely cover the roots and they over the dirt wit paper towel to keep the soil from drying out for the next day or so until they show.

I set them under clear container with wet rag to keep up humidity in sun. Do they even need sun yet?

Naw, not til they pop, even then not for a few days.
