So this is my first grow that I've successfully got into flowering, its been in flowering stage for 2 weeks now. Up till now everything has been fine. The whole veg was done under multiple cfls. I bought a small 150w hps for flowering. But know for the problem, the top few sets of leaves are getting brown around the edges. The fact that its only happening on the top of the plant makes me think its simply to close to the light? It is fairly close but I've had a constant fan running blowing over the top. I've been giving it a small dose of AN bloom nute, 1 teaspoon molasses, kelp meal. Any input would be great, I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Nobody has any idea what it could be? I want to try to fix the problem before it gets worse. I'm still reading different websites trying to diagnose the problem, but nothing matches up completely.

Sounds like your giving 'em too much fertilizer or nutrients. try flushing them out for about 15-20 minutes and wait a couple of days before you give them any more go juice. when you do give them juice again, try half the dose.
If you want to know how to do a good organic mix,let me know.

What is the temp under the new light?

I will flush the soil out. I don't know the temp directly under the light, but the room is typically under 80 degrees. I have a small fan blowing directly over the canopy. If it was from nutes wouldn't it start at the bottom of the plant? It's only on the top cola.

Looks like they've been in the "flowering stage" longer than what you reported. Alway tell us if you grow indoors with or without soil. This looks like you've been feeding them too much, too often and in conjunction with your close lights, they've began to burn. That won't effect the inner bud too badly but if your feeding them and there's only a couple weeks left to full maturity, STOP FEEDING THEM, If you're growing in dirt, water them thuroughly about 4 times a day, a full gallon of pure water for each plant each watering until you harvest. This will flush out the fertilizer and shouldn't hurt a thing. Hopefully you can handle all the draining. If they don't drain well, the roots could rot. Al that fresh, pure water will replace what the plants have in them now but it takes a couple of weeks... I don't care what anyone says, placing a light source closer to your plants will likely do more harm than good, even though you have a fan going. Just try to step outside all day in the bright sunshine, even though it's windy. You'll still have a sunburn if you stay out long enough. If it was actually burning from light being too close, it would be more wide spread all over the leaves, rather than at the tips and at the serrations. That looks like fertilizer burning to me. FLush 'em out if you can and leave that stupid close light off of them... Beat Wishes, Buddy Boy

Thanks for the reply. But honestly I'm only 3 weeks into flowering now, and the last week has been nothing but stunted growth. I still have a long way to go. The leaves are looking absolutely terrible now, there still green but there so crispy and all curled and twisted up. This is upsetting after months of growing. I'm using a soiless mix and I've flushed the soil twice now until I made sure the water was coming out more clear. I haven't tested the ph coming out yet but I'm putting it in at 6.5ph. I think its a combo of the ph and light being close. I've been leaving it alone hoping the problem would lesson. But it surely hasn't. Anybody have a idea of what I could do. I can provide more information if needed. Also I forgot to mention I've only gave them nutes twice at very low dose. And I haven't gave them any for over a week.

I moved the light away, I don't think it's over fed tho, I'm going to attach an image, if anyone could tell me what causes the leaves to react in such a way, I'd be very appreciative. I can't find info anywhere.294157

2nd degree burns. Might lose her. back the light way off, get the humidity up, spray 8-10 times a day if you have to. I've lost two plants similar to this. Gonna be really touch and go. Oh, and get some proper ventilation in there, fresh air in, exhaust out

Ok thanks for the help man, I took your advise and misted her and will continue to do so, I've also turned off the hps for now because i dont have anyway to raise the light anymore, and i put 4 large cfls around her. I hope she makes it :( I wish I would have known this sooner, thanks again.

If you stick your hand just over your plant, and it burns.. your plant will die. Temps are very important, ideal growing temp should be right around 72 degrees, and your thermometer should be placed at plant level. Should also have air coming into the grow space, and hot air being exhausted out

Yep I had it at a steady 78 most of the time, I'm pretty sure the light was just to close. I assumed since it was only 150w it wouldn't be such a problem having it closer. I was wrong. But on the plus side I just got home and checked her, she is improving. They actually look like leaves now. It's far from perfect still but its great seeing any kind of improvement. If it wasn't for you I can pretty much guarantee she wouldn't have made it, I would have kept the light where it was a cooked her completely.

Not out of the woods yet, keep spraying her, and monitoring the temps. Takes a week or so to get over the shock.

So its still recovering, all of the bud sites seem to be doing well and are starting to grow again. Most of the top fan leaves are still looking pretty terrible, still green but very crispy. idk if I should just leave them alone or snip them off to get more light under them. For now ill just leave them be unless I hear it would benefit to cut them.294249294250

You can take the yellow leaves off they are blocking light to the green ones.
