View Full Version : 2 at home tests, 1 lab test... and I'm still scared.

I have a pre-employment urine screening (hospital job) this coming Wednesday, at which day it will be exactly 20 days since I last smoked (shared a joint with a friend and another joint the following day). I'm overweight, have lots of fat cells and a slow metabolism.

I took a Firstcheck test 5 days after smoking and tested negative (picture below). I then took a different at home drug test 3 days later and tested negative again (picture below). For both tests, I used the first void of the day without drinking anything first.

I continued to be anxious and found a local testing center that sends its samples to Labcorp. I paid $65, peed in a cup and received my results after 2 days. The results were negative (picture below), although it was the 3 void of the day. I even went to the gym the evening before and worked out A LOT just to see if the results would change.

The "real" test is in 4 days and I'm still worried. :( I have waited for this job for years and now that I'm so close (I already got my starting day), I can't stop worrying that I will lose it.

I'm pretty sure the cutoff will be the regular 50 because my future employer also uses Labcorp.

Could I possibly test positive despite having passed 2 at home tests and a lab one? Can someone please tell me that I'm crazy to be still worried and reassure me that I will test negative?

Why the lab results have no value next to Creatinine, pH and specific gravity? Should I still drink a lot before the real test and do some dilution?

Thank you.

Also why the lab results have no value next to Creatinine, pH and specific gravity? The likely reason is because the $65 dollars only covered the testing of drug metabolites and not the validity tests.

Thank you, that makes sense.

Should I still use the dilution method on the day of the test?

Not if all of your home test results have been negative using the first void of the day. Just drink only enough fluids to where youre able to produce a sufficient amount of urine sample on the day of the scheduled U/A.

I received my clearance today and was explicitly told that I tested negative to all drugs. I did not use dilution.

I wanted to post the update to reassure heavy-set people for whom the information on the internet is pretty fear-inducing. I believe that for non-habitual users, body fat doesn't make that big of a difference because there is no built-up THC in the body. I weigh 296 lbs, I'm only 5.4 and I was clean when I tested 5 days after smoking.

I continued to be terrified because I kept reading about how body fat is a determining factor for THC retention in the body. I do not doubt that it is a determining factor for habitual and chronic users and I understand how THC get stored in the fat cells. But if someone is a non-habitual smoker, body fat does not really make a difference and will take only a few days to get clean, in most cases.

I wish I had spared myself all that anxiety and out-of-pocket money for at home and lab tests.
