View Full Version : Taking UR Drug Screening, Need Advice

I will be taking a drug test for a great new job on August 14th. I will have been clean since July 22nd (24 days) but I'm still concerned as to whether or not I will pass. Does anyone know of any specifics I should be doing to help pass this test, or any cleanses I should take before I go for the test? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here are some details as to what I've been doing up until now:
- was a relatively heavy smoker (once or twice a day) until i got the new job
- taking niacin every day since July 23rd
- drinking 1.5 liters of water at least 2-3 times a day
- I'm 5'10", 295lbs.
- I do crossfit 3 times a week
- I took a first check home drug test and it read a solid line and a very faded line
- the test will be a UR Drug Screening 35105N SAP 550 W/NIT
Please help, I'm very nervous and this job would mean a big change in my life.

When you tested yourself, did you use the first urination of the day?
By doing a Forum Search with the terms "niacin myth", "detox products scam", and "drinking water useless soluble", you'll discover that:
a) Niacin does nothing to help pass a U/A.
b) Detox products are nothing but a big scam to seperate the credulous from their cash.
c) Drinking water is only helpful on the day of the U/A. Drinking a bunch of water in the days before a U/A is of no help.

It wasnt the first urination of the day, I did it around 7 or 8 at night. Can all of these things really be unhelpful?

Thats right. The only way that is proven to rid the body of THC is time and fat-burning exercise.
Make use of the Search button with those terms that Ive listed above in post #2. Plus do a search with the terms "first urination".

Okay, so after reading through, my understanding is that when I do my next home test, I should do it with the first urination of the day. I plan on taking two more tests, one without diluting before my first urination, and then the next day i will dilute with water (probably drink like 2 or 3 1.5 liter bottle), take some B2 and creatine, and then try another test with my first urination. Should both of these tests come of with a faint second line, is it safe to assume i am in the clear a bit?
If I need to go the route of synthetic urine, I have seen mixed to bad reviews on QuickFix, but several good reviews on the Testclear powdered urine. Any thoughts on these two?

You should use the first urination of the day for all of your home tests and refrain from drinking any fluids prior. Drinking fluids will dilute the THCA concentration to where a urine sample can register a negative. The dilution phenomena is only temporary - once the fluids ingested had all been urinated out, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine by the kidneys, and thus youre right back to square one.
If youre planning on diluting for the scheduled U/A, be sure to do your creatine-loading at least 3 days prior. It takes 2-3 days for the body to convert creatine into creatinine. Creatinine is the end waste product that is found in urine and tested for at the labs. Also, urine Specific Gravity is checked along with creatinine in determining overdilution. Low S/G and creatinine levels are indicators of overdilution. Therefore, when diluting, use a sports drink (ie Gatorade) instead of water, since it helps maintaining a satisfactory S/G.

Theres lots of posts in this forum of QF success stories and they all can be found by doing a Forum Search. I personally prefer premixed synthetics (in which the QF is) over powdered urine, which has to be mixed first. Powdered urine lends itself to mistakes of either overmixing or undermixing. Premixed synthetics are excellent for "practice drills" in that they can be heated and reheated over and over. Powdered urine, on the other hand, is pretty much a one-shot deal once its mixed.

Thanks for such a detailed response, I really appreciate the info. Would it hurt if I just started creatine-loading now? And how much creatine should I be taking? How many hours prior to the test should I start diluting with gatorade?

You should have a few of these strips at hand anyway when doing dilution techniques, that way you can stay on top of your creatinine and well as the S/G. These strips are essentially the same colorimetric tests that will be used at the lab for your scheduled U/A. They are inexpensive and are found online by doing a Google search for "drug adulteration test kits"

Hey, just an update, it's exactly one week before my test, so I took a first check test for marijuana without doing any dilution or vitamin/creatine loading (17 days sober). I have attached the result in this post. It came up with a very faint line, but still any line according to the test is a negative result. What is your opinion? I will be creatine loading today and I'll start taking B2 tonight as well. This Saturday I will take the test again using the dilution method discussed by N2 and post the results. Thanks again for all the insight!

Before the scheduled U/A, take one more home test and again using your first void of the day. Go ahead and post the result (good or bad) here like you did with the other home test.

Update:
Hey, so here is the breakdown of the home test I took using N2's dilution method. I tried to make as many controls as I could and log as much as I could just in case someone in my position ends up needing a control :)
I followed the method assuming I would be taking the home test at 1PM. This was currently my 21st sober day.
1. 8:30AM: Took dose of niacin and creatine.
2. 9AM: Drank 2 8 oz. glasses of Yellow G2 Series Gatorade. Had a WaWa sausage egg and cheese sandwich and a hash brown :)
9:15-10AM: Drank 8 oz. every 15 minutes
3. 10:18AM: Used restroom
4. 10:30-12:30PM: Drank 4 oz. of Gatorade every 30 minutes
5. 10:59AM: Used restroom (urinated only)
6. 11AM: Took 10 B-2 Vitamin tablets, uncrushed (10x the recommended dosage)
7. 11:48AM: Used restroom (urinated only)
8. 12:50PM: Used restroom (urinated only)
9. Had to push FirstCheck home test up to 1:30PM because of the late urination in step 8.
And so below is the test I took today at 1:30PM. It looks like half of the line is thicker, and it was with the minimum urine required for the test, urinating a bit first before urinating in the container. I'm feeling a bit more confident seeing the test coming up a bit more negative for THC. I did notice in the N2 forum that someone used QCarbo for their initial hydration in step 1. Do you think this can still be beneficial?
I will post one more test the morning of the real test, and then will definitely let everyone know how it went. Until then!

Forget the Q Carbo magic snake oil. You'll be wasting alot of money because it will be no more beneficial than gatorade or water.
Skip the niacin as well. It does nothing to help pass a U/A.

Just wanted to say thanks for making me feel better. If a huge guy like you (no offense) can test clean after basically a week, then a skinny guy like me who smoked a little more should be just fine after two. I wish there were more detailed accounts like yours out there.

P.S. Guy, you tested negative over a a week ago and you're testing negative now. Stop hurting yourself w/ the Niacin and all that crap, drink some Gatorade day of (a little dilution can't hurt) and enjoy the new job!

Lol, none taken, you should definitely have no problem if your a skinny guy, you and that high metabolism of yours (you lucky bastard!). I know I shouldn't worry, but I've always been overly nervous about this kind of thing. All I can do now is cross my fingers and hope it all works out. Thanks!

Hey all, it's me again, just wanted to give an update.
I took the test last Wednesday, which was pretty stressful since I ran the N2 dilution method for 1pm but ended up not taking the test until 2pm. Despite that, I have been into work two days now and haven't heard anything regarding the test. Since it has been a full week since I took the test with no word, I am assuming the best. So for all you heavy set guys out there, it's possible to pass if you have been clean for a little over 3 weeks! Just lots of exercise and water, and good help from people on this site :)
Since I am incredibly paranoid - as always - I am still going to wait an additional two weeks to smoke again in the event that they spring something on me without notice. But for the most part, looks like I'm all good. Thanks to those who gave me hope, especially Burnt Toast, and foo on everyone who said otherwise!
