Hello all.
This forum has been extremely helpful to me... providing tips for substitution, dilution and clean-up. Also, for helping to ease nerves with the thought of an upcoming test. I thought I'd share my story in hopes that it can be helpful to others.
Over the past year, I've had several job interviews. If I had gotten the jobs I'd interviewed for, I would have had to take a drug test which would have meant substitution or dilution for me. I turned to this forum for advice on each occasion. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the jobs... or so I thought. In February, I interviewed for a job and was told that I was their 2nd choice. I was disappointed and continued my search which resulted in finding a lower paying job but one that didn't require a test.
In June, I was contacted by the company and told that the person who had accepted the job was leaving the position. I was offered the job, beginning in August. I would need to have a physical and drug screen by August 5. I wasn't worried because I had nearly 2 months to clean myself up. I stopped smoking on June 24 which gave me about 6 weeks to take the test. I also figured that since I was taking a break from the munchies I'd use this as an opportunity to shed a few pounds as well.
Here's the details...
I was an every day smoker, but not an all day toker. I would smoke a few hits when I got home from work and then again throughout the night, sometimes a little more on the weekends. The quality ranged from mid-grade to top shelf. I am 5'3" and at the time I stopped, I weighed 156 lbs.
I had cut down on my intake of fat and calories and ended up losing about 10 lbs.
I decided to take a test on July 10, about 2.5 weeks after stopping. I fully expected to be testing positive, but I was surprised to test negative. I tested again that same night, with a different brand. Again, it was negative. (One line was bold and the other was barely visible. Both tests were single-drug tests purchased from Amazon.) I tested again with one of those tests first thing the next morning. Again, it was negative.
I guess it's not just smoking that makes me paranoid, so I purchased one more test from RiteAid. It was a First Check single drug screen test. I tested myself on July 13 with the First Check test and I also used one of the Amazon tests to compare the line. Both indicated a negative result. I mailed my sample off for lab testing. The results were in today and showed that my sample was negative. I'm attaching pictures of the tests from July 13.
I hope that this post can be helpful for someone. I wish you all the best of luck! I hope to find out that my new job will not require random testing so that I can enjoy myself again soon :stoned:... hopefully I can keep the 10 lbs off!!
