Hi guys just need some opinions on why my drug test for thc (urine) test keep coming back higher. I done my first test on the 21/6 it came back positive so they did a confirmatory test which came back at 23ug/l out of 15 . My work told me at 8.00 in the morning that I had to do this test at 10.00 so i drank a heap of water about 5 bottles. I went to a health shop after this too see if I could get something to help detox my body quicker so I got niacin and was taking 600mg per day . One week later I done another test with my doctor as thats what work asked me too do because they didn't want me to fail another test with them and it came back at 37ug/l out of 15 . One week later I done another test with doctor and it came back negative. So on my doctors advise I booked in for a work test one week later and it came back positive with a count of 48ug/l. All the test I did I stopped taking niacin the night before at dinner time why wold this be? I should note that I was a heavy smoker I smoked 3 grams a day for about 15 years.

That just goes to show whats been said all along here: niacin is a myth. It does nothing to help pass a U/A. People that claim that niacin helped them pass were also drinking copius amounts of fluids, which is known as dilution. These people have passed by merely diluting the THCA concentration to where the urine sample registered a negative. These people wouldve passed anyway, just on the dilution factor alone and without the niacin to go with it.

Besides, taking more niacin than the 15 mg RDA can have some serious health consequences.
Overdoing Niacin Can't Thwart Drug Abuse Tests and Is Risky (http://www.medpagetoday.com/EmergencyMedicine/EmergencyMedicine/5426)

It must be understood that dilution techniques (regardless of configuration) are far from being 100% fail-safe. They can backfire if the THCA concentration in the bladder is too high. For most heavy smokers, it would be virtually impossible to dilute that concentration enough without sending the S/G and creatinine levels into a downward spiral and sending up the red flags at the lab.

For your next test, you should just cut to the chase and quit taking chances with your own urine - substitute, with either a clean persons sample or synthetic. This is the way to go, since youve stressed that you cannot fail another test. Employment-related U/As are unobserved unless you had been suspected of tampering.
