Travellers must have retina, thumbprint scans or face jail
From A Reader:
Dear Alex ,
Just to update you on one of todays stories about eye scanning at Orlando
airport. I am a UK resident and prison planet tv subscriber and am at the moment in Fort Lauderdale Florida. When i was on my way from Edinburgh I had a stop in Newark New Jersey, when passing through immagration i was finger scanned and eye scanned. When i asked what would happen if i refused to give my finger prints and iris scan i was told that i could be detained and would not be able to get my connecting flight. Needless to say i had to submit to the process or face a new jersey jail cell!
This process is already all over the states and anyone trying to holiday in America can expect this.
Thanks for all the good work that you and the infowars crew are doing.
kEEP UP THE FIGHT AGAINST THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!!
Iris Scanning To Begin At Orlando International Airport
Associated Press | May 11, 2005 (http://www.local6.com/news/4479554/detail.html)
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Florida's busiest airport will begin using high-tech iris-scanning technology to filter out possible terrorists and add an additional layer of security, according to Local 6 News.
People at Orlando International Airport will have both irises scanned at special computers to determine their identity.
"This will be an additional layer of information that is enrolled, which will be biometric information," OIA director of security Brigitte Rivera Goersch said. "Employees irises will be enrolled for the additional layer of security."
The Airport Access Control Pilot Program or AACPP is a first of its kind, according to the report.
A person would be required to stand in front of a special mirror and have both eyes scanned.
"It has to verify both irises, not just one iris," Goersch. "Statistically it is very reliable. Iris scanners -- the technology of iris scanning -- is considered one of the most reliable biometric technologies."
"You know just like we did with the airplanes with the cockpit doors and air marshals and all of that kind of stuff," federal security director Art Meinke said. It is just another step to try to figure out what can we do better."
Local 6 News reported that the 90-day test could be expanded and eventually moved to airports throughout the nation.

They would be DETAINED, not arrested, there is a difference. Do you think we should just let terrorist in our country? NO! Your stupid if you think we shoudl just open up the borders, not having any identity verification of travelers. Also, why the fuck would you refuse unless you had something to hide? Its not like retinal scan give you cancer!

newsflash, the border's already wide open, and has been. your only argument is i should have nothing to hide. my brother used to be a border patrol agent, i know all about the border situation.
those are the excuses to keep the drug war going. just let the cops search your car for drugs, what do you have to hide? just let the swat team slam in your door, you might be growing drugs! it's also what dictators say.
i have nothing to hide, so i have no reason to be treated like that. not to mention that this will do nothing to stop terrorism anyway.

Ok, I have never had my car searched, or my apartment, nor do I know anyone who has. You totally exaggerating. I knwo the borders are wide open right now, is that a reason to open them up even more? Checking people's identities will do NOTHING to stop terrorists? Thats just dumb man.

We need abounty on Mexican heads. Any Mexican walking the wrong way across the border is fair game for the thousands of snipers who want a mexican body. Of course the gov't will pay a hefty sum for each intruder caught and killed. Women and children must be captured and sent back though I'm no Hitler. That would make them stop!

The homeland security thing you have over there is a load of shite. How added bureacracy = security I dont know. the only good thing is that there's probably 20% extra emplyment in the areas surrounding international airports.

Time magazine is not reputable source, and from what I can see, you are not basing it on fact. Sorry mate, but prove it. Saying 'well it was once in time magazine' proves fuck all, with possible excetion of gullibility.
I was expecting something like a link to new economist, nature or a reputable journal. Time magazine dont fall under that heading - but you went to uni, you know that already.
Its not in Miriam Webstter either...so a newly coined term...by a magazine........think about it

PMSL LOL!!!! OK - point taken gracefully, especally having read this bit:
Thus some observers have termed this a hyperpower era in which other powers are having to learn how to deal with the United States, while the United States has to learn how to wield its power responsibly
Its true, I'd be out of a job if it wasn't for helping people 'deal with the united states'

It's funny how society says Airport Secuirty is no different since pre 9/11 and it really isn't. If anything it's just more of a hassel now. And soon as the goverment steps up with a new plan people automatically hate it.

You must not have flown since 911.... I have and let me tell you, it is WAY beefed up. They have dogs, every 5th person gets wanded... you have to x-ray your shoes now... it's not a hassle it's for your safety...
Now if they would just put snipers on the borders, we would be well protected...

Yeah, and you have your photo taken, then your fingers scanned, then you get given a card, then you wait in departures, then they take your pciture again, then they scan your fingers again, then they take your card off you, scan that, take your picture once more before giving anohter card back.........
Like I said, its good for employment in the local area, and also helps keep them flights nice and delayed.
