I'm thinking it's harvest time here, but need some advice. Is this plant ready?

I'm not seeing any amber in the trychs (or I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm looking at -- that's a possibility). These are White Rhino, 17 weeks old and have been in flower for almost 10 weeks. Indoor tent grow under T5 lights. I've been outta town for a couple weeks and have had these on auto-water -- was sure they'd be showing more signs by now, but the buds did get a bit heavier.

Is it time to go for it, or should I wait more and go back to feeding (they've been on water only for 2 weeks)?

My last harvest was way too 'amber' for me any my friends. Couch weed is good sometimes for some people but not everyone, all the time. For me a little goes a long way. Just my little opinion. I like when there are little of no clears left. But sometimes the ambers start to accumulate before the last clears turn. So it's a judgement call.

Thanks everyone! Think I'm going to harvest (tomorrow). Taste test says it's good schidt, and I'm ready (& have the time). Lots of leaves turning yellow, so it looks like the girls are pretty much "there." I'll take some more pictures before I get out the machete. First grow and all, I'm ready to try drying and curing.

I love these colors (Nitrogen deficiency?)

A big ol' sticky one. Had to use paint thinner to clean my hands.

Grow tent is now drying tent. Top two pans are bud, bottom two are leaves and stems.

My first harvest - two plants. I think I would have liked a few less leaves in the buds but time will tell, and you really could spend all day pruning. Can't wait to find out the final weight.

Thanks everybody for your help and comments during this grow. It was a huge help.

Hell Yea, got my finger on the trigger looking at that big ole colita! Very nice indeed! One more thingy.... Ya may wanna reconsider your drying tent? Think they need a cool dry environment.

This should be pretty cool & dry. Still running 3 full air exchanges / minute, but it's all in the dark now. Stir the bud once a day. It's shrunk a lot in 6 days already -- leaves are about dry, but the buds are still a little mushy & sticky. I am also surprised at how much LESS it smells. Just today, I thought of an idea to tag one bud so I can track its weight through the drying and curing. Wish I thought of that when I harvested.

My trivia question for the day: What is the weight ratio of "just cut" and "fully cured?" That is, how much weight do you expect to lose between harvest and ready-to-use? I didn't even think of getting a harvest-time weight. My bad.

For sincemilla about 25% of good bud. wet/dry

Cool. I don't think I'm hitting that, but will do a more controlled experiment next time.

maybe you didn't get what I was trying to say. for each ounce of wet harvested herb you'll get a quarter ounce of dry bud.

Nah, I understood. I'm guessing I lost more than 75% in the drying is all -- I should have weighed it right after harvesting.

Into the mason jars today. The bud weighed out at 4 and an eighth ounces for the two plants.

mine just when in the jars today. I didn't weigh anything yet. two of the smaller bags were overly dry so they have a fresh pot leave in the jar until tomorrow am. I'm off to work for a week first thing in the am. So I'm glad the jars are dry enough to leave for a week. OL can 'burp' 'em once while I'm gone.

And you feel bad about the high water weight. Most of mine is loaded with seed. :wtf:

I found one seed in the drying rack. How the hellz that even possible? Fem seeds, fem plants. Got another 46 grams of leaves out of the deal (guaranteed smokable), so the total was about 5.7 ounces with all the stems removed.

All in all this first grow went well but took a little longer than expected. Was figuring a bit over 3 months and we're at about 4.5.

Got your next crop going yet, Shov? Got some Pineapple Chunk seeds here that are looking for water, but I might look into strains some more. This White Rhino is pretty good, but a bit heavy in the couchlock department. Would like to find something a bit more energizing.

Hope your work week is better than mine!
