So a week ago i received these beautiful plants from a friend and i cant seem to do anything but kill them. Quick run down
They are now about 3 1/2 weeks old. Medium is a soiless mix with perlight and worm castings. Lights are 8 5k 24watt CFL's. 24hr light cycle.

Normal watering light and air circulation left me with this
[292363
This was taken yesterday before i gave them their first dose of MG @1/2 strength and they arent getting any better.
Please help anyone.

Looks like heat or air circulation could be factor.

Air circ seems steady and the temp goes between 75-78

They don't like the soil they're in, have you checked the PH? A little worm castings go along way too much and it water logs the soil. They look over watered what's the PH of the water and why did you give them MG? Those pots are too small for the size of plants. What kind of light are you giving them?

^^^ what lipps says. Either too wet, or too strong a soil or both. More fertilizer isn't going to help. Transplant into a larger container with a good medium and see.

What type of medium would u suggest

That's really for you to decide for yourself. You can grow hydroponically in pure perlite or many other inert mediums. Or you can try a soil-less grow of coco coir, Pro Mix or both or organic soil with probiotics. They all can work great.

Okay so my local Agway sells this

I was gonna mix it with perlite in 6" pots. Will that work or should i go bigger

And can i put the current soil less medium its in, in the new medium or will that mess it up being two mediums. Or should i like knock all the current medium off the rootball.

Worm castings with soilless medium makes the medium very soggy and muddy, I suggest you don't add it and make it a tea instead. Mixing mediums is fine.

Never mind just figured that out(palm to forhead)
Im thinking about using the koko pro 75% and a 25% mix of perlite. Any thoughts

I dont want to jinx myself but since i let them dry out and added the MG they are slowly starting to come back and growing. Leaves that started to die are still bad and some have died. But the ones above are stiffening up and looking good. The new grow has a little tip burn not sure y lights are 4-6 inches away so maybe its the nutes.

You could check further, search and you will find.

Good to hear they're recovering. And it does sound like nute burns.

So i transplanted the ladies into some 1gal pots. Used perlite and Koko Pro. Looking forward to the new growth and getting these babies some size. Their are some dead leaves still on the bottoms of the plants should i just leave them or cut them off.

First pics show nutrient def, like nitrogen and sulphur. If you've given some fert, the apppearance should become greener in a couple of days. It will take a little time. Maybe another dose of fert in a few days to a week and see what happens. Don't overdo the fert. Transplant to bigger containers when they get bigger.

Transplanted to 1gal pots with Koko Pro and Perlite they seem to be alive again and the smell is coming back. Doing alot of research on LST, FIMing and topping to train them still hazzy on it though. Heres what they look like now. 292500

One question i have is mine seem to have alot of inner growth (see pic)
292501

Should i leave that or trim it up. Also most plants Im seeing have multiple branches creating say a sub plant off the main trunk. Mine seem to only be branches with only leaves off the main trunk. Is that the strain i have or is there a way to create that sub plant off the main trunk, or am i just not at that stage of growth yet.
Any and all help is great. Thanks

Wow man your plants look so much healthier, good job. They looked half dead.

If you want to LST those plants better get going that main stem is looking a bit thick and may snap when you try bending it over. If it does snap wrap the break with sterile gauze and then again with some tape. Wait a week or two and the stem should have healed.

As far as the branching goes I am aware of two schools of thought here. Personally I do not top or remove branching. I train lower branches to grow mostly straight outward from the main stem. This creates that christmas tree effect.

I have heard of people that like to remove all lower growth concentrating all the plants energy on the main cola. I have never tried this method. Keep in mind the flower stretch where the plants usually double in size when flowered.

Any idea the genetics on those babies?

Thanks for all the advice and compliments. Yes they were almost dead, let em dry out, gave em some MG Tomato and transplanted them and they are alive again. Trimmed the dead leaves and bad spots and just yesterday gave them some Cal/Mag and Superthrive and they are back to loving life. Deceided to try a FIM on one in case I mess it up

Not sure if i did it right, plant didn't cringe I did though. Gonna give it a day or two and see how it looks. Any advice on the FIMing is welcome.

Also as far as the strains was told Sour Diesel,Northern Lights and Afghan Cush. But he moved all the plans around as seedlings before I got them and the label sticks fell out of these ones so I could have one or more of the same or all three who knows. Ill be happy just to get thru my first grow and get a good yield.

In an earlier post you wrote that you added MG. Was this some miracle grow fert? I'd let them grow another 8-10 inches, the cut the top if you want and transplant into 5 gallon buckets with enough soil to fill the buckets. As far as cutting the top is concerned, I wouldn't waste time on debating the method. Just cut the top off if you want.

Yes i am refering to Miracle Gro Tomato. And im thinking i FIM/topped it somewhat right cause I am getting new growth in place of the old top. Looks like 3 new shoots.

UPDATE.....
Plants seem to be back on track and healthy. Said screw the CFL grow and stepped up my game. Dropped a couple hundo on a completely new set up. Bought a 1000w MH (pic1) with switchable ballast (pic2)so I can go HPS for Flower and Hood. Also installed a 500CFM inline fan(pic3) from Home Depot to exhaust the hood and room. I also covered the walls with Panda film to help with reflection. Only problem which I have now fixed was tripping the breaker happened atleast 5 times. My question is it tripped the light off and the plans went with out light for about 15-20 seconds till I turned the room incandescent light on which is barely any light. Now I have also switched to 18/6 light cycle as well but my question is have I fucked the plants with the on/off of the lights.

Also feel free to critique the new setup which will change and evolve more as time goes on. Temp is my concern right now I fluctuate between 80-82. I have been looking all over for portable AC's just waiting on a good deal.
