Brother ranger, always knew him as Bigfoot(always going to kick someone's ass), has family medical problem. Had my back more than once, so I got his.

He settled in the nw (swear to it), and now has a dispensary grow. Ask me come in for awhile. Working out of big greenhouses may change my questions, probably increase the number.

So leaven on a jet plane- wish me luck, taking a camera for the wild life. Peace

Have been asked here somewhere, what varieties??

Took awhile but I gather, started in 99(when he found mine) with great white shark + NYC diesel + sour diesel + white widow + g.purps + kush. =

Each + is 2or3 years to cross, grow, choose, breed back to stabilize.

But looking at 250 of them before males, the old bell curve was there, and in the extremes I thought could see the old phenotypes, and I got to choose some of those just to see. So all from same seed, and most look the same--huge right now

Leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'm be back again(just bought me a one way ticket).

Havest-tober. back to the farm to watch over harvest. Have gotten couple of numbers that look good for harvest so far.

Have some reports of mold from dripareas in greenhouse.

Ah, the nasty drip areas! Just when you think you know where they all are in your greenhouse, the earth/foundation will settle making things unlevel & wham! than nasty little drip moves! But why is it that when that happens, it has to move right over the seed flat that had your most expensive seeds for which you had the highest expectations! ?!?! Had that happen to me a few yrs back. Whole right half of grnhse was cannabis seedlings, most bag seed. One flat of seeds from a seed bank. Expensive. It had been windy enough to apparently shift the grnhse a little, enough to move the condensation drip to right over that particular seed flat. Mould & fungus killed the whole flat over night. Grrr!. Now I tent each seed flat with gauze. But a tree fell on my grnhse this spring. Oh well. It was visable from the road & couldn't grow past sm seedling stage anyway. I have a plan in mind for the next time I build a grnhse... special little channels for condensation to run along down to the four corners & unto the floor. I can deal with a minor disaster when there's something useful to learn from it. It makes me creative & inventive! :)

Out on the mountain, the root problem issue is a hot topic. But this is a different world, was worried for all the wrong reasons, workers have stepped up more than congress!! And as people their amazing, saw a very cute thing play a drum-she made the thing talk, all I could say was when I look at a drum I wonder how much pot can it hold-she made it talk.

But the pot is amazing, first greenhouse gone(New per plant record), second bigger plants greenhouse to much mold but still very good. Outside using a galdarn truck to haul three or four plants back to the barn.

Big Hawaiian group this year, going to say it's a good thing!!!

Took most before I left, I found knots in the stem of worst and on it lower buds were dead to the end, so only left 5 I thought to be clean still, and they where the biggest ones, but now I hear freeze talk.

From what I've been hearing, that could be a very interesting combination. I love diesel, & I've heard from experienced smokers that cheese is potent enough to knock your butt in the dirt, though I haven't been lucky enough to try it yet. I wonder if hybrid vigor would kick it into overdrive & make a plant way to big for my limited space. I know you'll have fun with it. Interested in hearing your evaluation. I really miss 'the farm'.

Pics on the way, but need the big computer for that, so for now a only in Humboldt story. Two of the Hawaii's and I are headed to a satellite grow on other ground. In the mountains a short drive seems long to me. We pass two semis, one obviously backed up to look out, but both left in a hurry. Now we have permission, so we stop at friends(next house) and what's up?

We go back, and it turns out, a local was been popped(two weeks till harvest done), so he cleans up and dumps it over the cliff. We are looking at what looks like a river of bud flowing down the side of the mountain. The skateboarder does about four parkur jumps and is standing in it, picks up a double hand full and takes thirty minutes to climb out with it. We take off to check our own, but returning meet the neighbors. Their old pickup looks like a covered wagon made out of bud.

Like I said only in Humboldt.

It is awesome & I don't even have words to describe. Being up high in that big ole windshield, you see it all! It could be compared to an out of body experience. We were routed all over the place, & on the way back, I found out how Boulder Co got her name. (At least I think that's where we were. Big round boulders stacked on top of each other in piles, bigger than a barn, MUCH bigger!) Yeah. The only thing I liked about that man was his truck. Oh, speaking of redwoods. Ed went out of his way to take me to a state park where we actually DROVE THROUGH a redwood that had an archway carved into it. Don't think it was meant for rigs, I heard something scraping as we went through, pushed both rear views in. But after that, I realized how bland the east coast is, & how narrow minded this area is. Everybody on the weat coast was so hip. :) :) :)

Been trying to keep up with all the new and interesting around here.

Farm is shut down now, except all the flowers the greenhouse. Three months and it starts again. But in every ying, there is some yang. A great summer, then I came home. Not going to point fingers, but piling stress into a society is not the way to go. Anyway couple of weeks ago, my new son-in-law brought me home a new dabbing rig. And several of my rangers were there to show off, some new strains, some new cars, and some new guns.

The fun was underway, when the yang part started. Most of you know that the ranger loves the ladies, the reason I claim my heart is so badly broken. But the ultra high tech thing(pacemaker/defibrillator) in my chest said enough all ready. I believe most of you can hear your body talk, like most I'll take immediate satisfaction. But mine has the capability to really get my attention. The first shock is not even a surprise, but it's like running through the jungle. You know it's there, you know it wants you, and it don't miss.
The first hit not to bad, I don't remember much after the fifth. Wife and boys got me to hospital, was hit 20+ times in four hours. One week inside, doctors and nurses doing their best and I'm back home. All is very shaky, but I'm here. And now I have very low tolerance.

Doing this to focus on something besides pain at four in the morning. But it's nice to have this special family to talk to and keep up with. But for now it's asta la vista. Love u all,

Guess because of being so close to my dad & nolonger having him around, reading about you two reminded me of him. I'm so glad your wife & the boys were there when you needed them. Take things slow & easy while you need to. Since you listen to your body, you'll know when its ok to get going or when you need to take a break. Take time to heal & regroup & remember we all care about you. Post whenever you feel up to it my friend. Take care. :) :) :)

Shovel, little story, 15 years ago while operating public water system. I was 50 and thought I was tough as hell, carrying railroad ties for the excavator. Major blood clot finds the widow maker artery that takes care of the heart, lost about half of it.
To keep me going, they installed my Cheney device. And just like the man has caused me some grief. First it has to be adjusted to patient, mine has bitten me several times, because I stayed active. This last time super bad. But docs adamant that it saved my life this time. But being hit so often has left me a wreck, they called it p.t.stress.
Have always believed the herb, has done nothing but have a positive impact. Especially since its all a system man. But after helping me beat cancer the last three years, the focus has been on that. Then going in for this was a surprise.
And don't want anyone to say that the mountain was hard on me. I am certainly glad nothing happened there, but the doctor talking about what I should give up, ended up with a shrink again. What is important? Life or living it.

The other thing is I get more God damn emotional with each near death event. I do think a lot of this community and what there doing.

I think that's a 'knee jerk' reaction on a subconscious level thats responding to the shock of finding you're still alive. I'm sure you didn't expect to be. Ok cat I hear you, I tried a couple of grow logs, before here-they ended up in the evidence pile hurting a friend, so writing things down became taboo. But I still have a pile of calendars to burn, don't put stuff in the trash.

There are several individuals on here that should be professional researchers(if their not), their grow logs are really nice. What, when, where, how, and how much. There like text books, shovelhandle comes to mind but there are several others. And with your start and devotion maybe a book could be your way up and or out.
This is more a look what I did this summer, and it was really fun and. Being an old man, I could see lots of opportunity, in all the phases of production. If we get this legal there is going the be a pile of work to do. We could go out tomorrow and set up a trim shop and have work n next week. But that's for the whipper-snappers.
I try to be a good patent, but being good is hard for me, there's always something. I plan on being around for a while so watch what you say.

Need to get over to the medical side of this now, I know there's just as good information there as there is for growing it.

Some of the dreams you have when you're ill can be quite scary & down right dangerous if you're trying to act them out while in that fog/dreamstate. When I was a kid, my neighbor was ill with a high fever. He dreamed the house was on fire & was sleepwalking in his delirium & fell out the back door & really skinned himself up in the bushes. Scared his wife senseless, she realized how easily he could have killed himself. So she started making the teenaged kids take turns skipping school to stay home & help her watch him. She was afraid to even leave him alone for a quick bathroom break after that.
-- Know what you mean about hiding to be alone. Not a fan of crowds, & LOUD ones make me go in the opposite direction. Get more than 2-3 kids together & they ALL scream. They have no idea what that sounds like to other people. Mom used to say the cure for that was to put a bucket over their head & let them hear themselves, that'll shut 'em up. Never seen it put into action, but I can imagine it would work! We all have times when loud noises send us into hiding. I'm a big fan of discipline too. Parents who don't smack an ass every now & then aren't doing their kids any favors. I've had people comment on the fact that my animals behave better than their kids. I've always said, discipline & training, works wonders, you should try it! My mom came from a big family & when ever anyone was sick, they'd come to see that sick person with the whole damned crew! Just saw something on pivot tv, end of the empire, about how they last about two hundred years, till the money is concentrated at the top, distract the populace with big events that end up being more violent than anything else, use force to control(what happens to protect and serve). Remind you of anything!! My deal has always been, leave it better than you found it, I worry about the kids and grandkids now. It seems like a stampede towards the cliff now.:tin foil hat:

Protect & serve got twisted into control & intimidate while we were standing back with our heads hanging down, trying not to draw their attention. But there's still too much old hippie in me, I say speak out & be heard!
-- History DOES have a way of repeating itself, eh? People say it often, but if they REALLY took heed, there'd be no reason to beat a dead horse. I'm not sure if I'm angrier at the government, or at the people; because the people sit on their asses & let this shit happen. Perfect example of 'give them an inch & they'll take a mile.
-- I've been 'politicaly angry' ever since Uruguay's legalization & the antics of the U.N. & so glad their president won't back down & is fighting back for his beliefs. Sure wish more people here had his spunk. Our founding fathers had it. Where did it go? When did it leave us? Its like we turned our heads for a min &, POOF! It was gone. I think maybe it was ww11 & the great depression; somehow got us pointed in the wrong direction. Im wondering if we'll regain our spunk before we stampede OVER the cliff, or plumet into the ocean like a bunch of lemming..... humm.

Crystal - am very glad to be home, some blamed my busy summer on my heart prob.relapse. But still think it was worth it. Saw a while different life, and seeing close to 200lbs of green all harvested and trimmed was very satisfying. Bigfoot headed back out to grow, leaving tomorrow to get this year's crop started. Told me today to rest up, wants me to come back.
But on mountain right now is not going to fly with my family or my doctors. Heard today about how lucky I was, again. Starting to wonder how many lives I have left.

But this place is like my sanctuary, always some thing to entertain me. Was told by my grandfather, you can go for the money, or the entertainment. Have tried to do the latter. He also taught me how to grow stuff. My other gf taught me moonshining, which seem to have been my start in chemistry and security.

Hope all have a great new year,I plan on it.

Looks like I'll be starting over this spring, hard for me to believe this winter has been so tough. Lost all my clones and mothers while boys where in charge. Problem I think was, you've have to be committed, and that means everyday, not just even you can.

But did bring back a good taste of cali, Bigfoot have me the vaping supplies for my work at Xmas, and I got couple hundred seeds(3 different kinds) to start over.

I know this sounds totally nuts - but if you are into trying something new try this:

Herbs for your heart - ashwaghanda - it's a root powder that you mix with water then choke down- tastes terrible and you can make pills out of it but it really strengthens muscles tissue -which your heart isâ?¦
Tulsi Tea ( yes I talk about it as much as weed!) - it is a potentiator(sp) to cannabis as well as helps to regulate Blood Sugar and cardiac function without worries of it interacting with any pharmaceuticals that the physcian may have you on. ( also an excellent odoriferous plant- actually quite a heady smell that covers almost any other smell when growing)
Shizandra will also help with energy levels without effecting you like caffeine effects your heart - also coca leaf tea is better then coffee too

Now if you are really out there try some crystals -
Selenite under you bed at nite
Sugulite around your neck or in your pocket
And Aquamarine

Life is about balance and it is supposed to be fun- enjoy those seeds and be sure to keep us posted!

Far far from it, I'm carry a pouch of friendship blessed stones in my shirt pocket, instead of a cell phone!. My Indian braided hemp and beaded bracelet. And my mountain witch made and blessed silver and hemp necklace.

Herbs, sounds positively sensible. :angelsmiley: will try and check it out, any suggestion where to look?

Mountain Rose Herbs sells fresh herbs as does Horizon Herbs ( I LOVE Richo's write ups about the different herbs he sells)

If you happen to have a green thumb you can grow them all- tulsi re seeds just like any other plant from the basil family.
Ashwaghanda likes it hot and dry but germinates easily
Shizandra- still working on germinating that one- it can take over 1 yr for that seed to germinate BUT once it does it forms a bush that readily reseeds itself….

crystal I am a former geologist and as such I tend to view stones on a scientific level, ON THE SURFACE. Fact of the matter is, I more or less worship stone and mineral, as well as the processes that give rise to the incredible spectrum of crystalline substrate that all of us grow from (God I hope my former Professors read this). I don't know how much I can follow crystal power/healing and such, but I have an extensive collection of minerals and rocks from all over the world that give me an irrational amount of pleasure and insight. I am never happier than when I am surrounded by stones and plants. The energy I sense from stones is something I have kept to myself for all of my years because it does not jive with my vocation as a scientist, but it is something I will take happily to the grave.

:jointsmile:Sounds like I'm not the only one here into Wicca & native american shamanism! !!! I'm totally into the powers & energies of stone, crystals & plants! Blessed Be & Goddess Bless! I actually need to smudge this place with white sage to dispell negativity, after the bs that went down here today! Chromophore, I learned a long ago everything can't be explained scientifically. At the U of Delaware, many professors are wiccan. I've done the sweat lodge thing with them & incense & crystal seminars. Just remember, education should OPEN our eyes, so its OK to think outside the box! I think you'd do your old professor proud! I think some of us feel drawn together because of more than just cannabis!
-- Crystal, just like many herbs, working best in unison with each other, pot sometimes does too. I should probably should say ALWAYS, because I can't think of one medicinal herb that SHOULDNT be combined with pot. Its an HERB! & that's a fact! My favorite thing for my insomnia is a bowl, chamomile tea & maybe a valarian root capsule. While all three are great, that combination just does it for me. No narcotic hangover from zombie land.
-- Ranger, not trying to say I told you so, just trying to say see what I mean. Remember I told you to hook up with Crystal when you first came home from the hospital? See what I mean? She' s a healer. She can HELP you. I meant it when I told you that you are NOT replaceable! It made me so happy to see you talking to Crystal about your health & about the blessed friendship stones in your pocket. I'll bet money that they are in a little drawstring MOJO bag! Hahaha! I work stones, crystals (& especially turquoise) into my dream catchers & things & I wear an awesome pentagram. I use a lot of hematite, as it grounds & dispells negativity. The next smudge stick I burn will have pot stems worked into it. Fuming with pot & sage should bring a peaceful atmosphere. Ranger, I'm interested in hearing more about your mountain witch. ;) You've mentioned her a few times now, so I know you want to talk about her! :) :) :)

Ranger- would love to see you working with a little peice of dioptase too….It really helps us to find that place inside ourselves where we find we really don't have to forgive ourselves or others - we just perceive the issue a little differently. Dioptase also has a high percentage of copper so it is especially great for working with muscle tissue.

oh yeah cat - try this recipe - ranger you may like it too- it's definitely better than anything that is prescribed.

Ha ha! Ranger! I'm not trying to get warm, I'm trying to SLEEP! LMAO!

-- Crystal, the problem is probably a near total LACK of thc & cbd! They stole my entire grow last summer! I had 17 BIG outdoor plants (females) with a history of being heavy yielders. I haven't had any herb at all since. Just the trimmings when I prune this indoor grow. I have multiple health issues plus spinal & nerve damage. When I harvest next seasons outdoor grow I plan to make a rather large batch of RSO. I'm placing a catalog order next month & one of those items is a coffee mug warmer. One of those 'hurry up & wait' things. The wait wouldn't seem so long if I could sleep through it! I'm going to try your recipe though, along with a couple others. I just don't know how to make green dragon. :) :) :) :) :)

plenty of recipes on here for that- I like mine made from fresh not dried and I cook it much longer til it's almost oily…..until you have some supply try this- I have used thisone and it is good too.

Same as above just replace the green dragon with your favorite! Chammomile. Do you make your own elixirs? Very cheap to do so. I know that the herb books TELL you to make a chammomile elixir with the german - but try one made from roman - the leaves not the blooms, very tasty and much cheaper to make!

Didn't mean to gank the thread- sorry Ranger just a little shocked that we have a 'patient' who has no access at all. Fucking six….sorry Cat…wish I was closer to you…I would donate….

Thanks guys. I'm doing ok for now with the trimmings when I prune & shape the plants, & the first male I pulled. My tolerance is pretty low at the moment & I actually get quite high. I found by curing leaf just a little will take away a lot of the harshness & chlorophyll taste, & I can actually taste bubblegum & sometimes blueberry on the exhale. Never had to consider curing leaf before. Thats something I saved to run across the ole silk screen a few times, then mix those golden tricomes with some sticky black finger hash. Mumm... yeah, that goes good with some sweet blackberry wine! Maybe when its warm near the end of spring & I'm kicked back flipping burgers on the grill..... Ok. Well here in TN you can become a master gardener by paying $100.00/ yr and volunteering for so many hours at the local gardens ( parks, zoos and rich plantations that are now tourist sites) a few hours to weed- I have dealt with them and they know a lot about Gmo soybeans, corn and chemical fertilizers- don't seem to be worried about heirlooms or organically- something I have started noticing is most of our lawn companies talk about ' master gardener' now even though they just cut grass and haul mulch.
Now I imagine it might be different for weed, but with all the other opportunistic propaganda I see in grow stores and on the net.... I'm gonna have to be convinced.
However I have run into individuals here that I consider masters of the field- your in that group Ranger as are several others, who may or may not be old timers to growing weed. Mastering the growing process us recognizing the spirit of the plant, being able to listen, then act if needed. IMHO

I actually looked into the program here. I want to have as much permaculture and medicinal herbs growing here as possible, my family has the irish dirt gene and we actually would garden as a family. I lost a brother to suicide several years ago and the best times he had as myself were in our gardens - we used to swap plants, fish filters and all the sort like thatTMI sorry..
BUT - the master gardener program here is a farce. WE are the agriculture state haha and that means we are well versed on GMO, Chemicals, Pesticides and other by products of commercial farming. In fact we are probably the only state who has the Department of Agriculture backing the MMJ billâ?¦

I have yet to meet anyone within the group of master gardeners that I would ask advice from even on a sunflowerâ?¦.they are all about chemicals and mass production that isn't healthy for the plants, soil or people. They also called us hippies ( a compliment in my book) but took our cash at thier annual plant saleâ?¦.Then one of them got a look at my ethnogenic garden and was facinated that we had so many different ( legal) species growing well in our yardâ?¦shows ya what they knowâ?¦..

Crystal, in reference to post #94. I acquired my hort degree @ U of De because of my love for plants (& all things of nature). What did I learn? How to kill plants, soil, earthworms, birds etc, etc, with chemicals. Chem nutes, chem herbicides, chem pesticides, chems, chems, chems. The message seemed to be, 'Hey! If Cat loves it, lets kill it!' I did acquire a little good info. How to identify pest & disaese & a bunch of latin words, which I've since forgotten (need to first master english! LOL!). It got my foot in the door at the biggest nursery in a 5 state range at the management level & a really nice paycheck. Even got me into Longwood Gardens untill my car blew up (2 hr drive. Orchid & carnivorous house). But I swear it had nothing to do with a love of plants. Know exactly what you guys mean about 'master gardeners'! At least now a days they do teach organics too. Have my own - very small, very exclusive, get it together, twice a year(at least till this year). In the spring, end of winter, mainly :eat: :smokebong: :S2::S2: And what you got left and then seed trading.

And then the fall. Call it the k-cup :420thought:. Bring and brag. Last year was interesting with vaping and cali stash. Really don't think it contributed to my event, but maybe.
