I have to go back to court again in June to turn in my community service and proof of payment. I wasn't on probation and I wasn't being drug tested from this period. My court was at a traffic court, city municipal actually and it was possession of paraphernalia and cannabis. Do you think I will be drug tested when I turn my stuff in to get it off my record?

I pleaded "nolo" and when I went to turn in the paper, all I did was hand it to a lady and leave.

As long as you're not going to report to a probation officer, I doubt they even test there.

No harm in calling if everything is completed, and ask for the mailing address to mail the papers to.

You could even send it certified and that would just imply you're safeguarding yourself so you can prove they got it.

I do that with everything court related, for proof, not out of any concern for testing.

From personal experience with courts (and I've had my fair share... unfortunately) be expecting the worst. If you have time, go ahead and start preparing for a drug test.

But a bigger question... does your sentence require you to submit to drug testing? i still have every court paper i've gotten and for all criminal (i know you said traffic court, but im just giving my thoughts since i've never really dealt with traffic court) and it always outlines everything that you agree to under your sentence.

Go through them and see what you find. If you had community service and fines though, I wouldn't be surprised if you were in fact on probation. In my state, even traffic gets assigned probation, but its most likely unsupervised and you never report to an officer. Then your off when you pay off your fines and whatever else they make you do.

They may if it is a condition of pretrial release, but it is varied based on where you live. Generally though, it isn't common unless you are on probation. Now that doesn't stop from being placed on probation and reporting immediately by your PO for a drug test.
