Hi all, this is my first grow but I have been doing my research for quite sometime now. I started 5 seeds in distilled water 5.8 ph adjusted 1.5" rockwool in an tray with a dome on a heat mat. Temp stays around 82 & humidity around 68%. After 3 days 2 of my lil girls popped through, 12 hours later 2 more popped up but my other still hasn't. Seeds are Jack Herer Auto's. I've kept them in a dark cabinet & have not introduced light to them yet.
Now for my question, I think I might have over watered them.. There a yellowish color an not growing to fast. They been in the dome the whole time & I only remove it for about 10 min a day (should I remove the dome an let them dry out). Total time since I dropped the seeds in has been 4 days. I'm getting worried because they aren't looking to healthy compared to all other seedlings I've seen. Any & all help is greatly appreciated! I don't want to lose these babies!

Sounds a little damp, yellow? Getting lots of light.

Yea, there wet to the touch. No light at all yet. They look really stretchy compared to some others I've seen online.

light even before they pop. You don't want a humidity dome for seedlings. Hurry, lights on , dome off!

What Shovelhandle said - lights on - dome off - quick quick quick!

Alright I was just going off of all the germinating "how too's" for rockwool I seen. Everything I read said keep the dome on until there is a true set of leaves then introduce light.

If it were me I'd chuck em out if they wernt upto scratch - generally I want 5 plants id start with 10 seeds/clones - pick the best ones to invest time into. Also I seem to find soil better for starting off compared to rockwool!

culling is certainly the way to go, invest in the best, even at harvest, I'll end up picking some to stay a little longer. At this stage at least you can smokem.

I'm doing a hydro grow so soil was out of the equation.

Everything you read was wrong....plants die without light so as soon as the seed sprouts it needs light it also needs air circulation so it can "breath". If you have yellow seedlings that's bad news they should be dark green.

Emergency save might be, good potting soil, red solo cups,24/7 diffused light, someone watching and talking to them. Bury deep as you can, work your light down so no burn. This is a long shot.
Then save clones for your hydro.

Little update:
Ive got a "true" 63 watt 2700k CFL 4" above them & has been on for 16 hours so far. Should I keep light on the 20/4, that's what I have it on ATM. Temp is 75 with 41% humidity. They aren't yellow anymore but still look pretty rough, one is leaning & the other 3's cotyledons aren't laying flat.
Rockwool is still moist to the touch & I haven't watered in two days. I did notice the tap root had grown through the bottom of the rockwool on 2 of them.
I'm super nervous with this being my first grow, & I'm going out of town for the weekend. I had planned on putting these in my bubble bucket with a 1 GPH drip but I'm not sure if there healthy enough for that. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't have any $$ for soil, I spent every dime on my hydro items.

You can't go away until you get this straightened out! For the WEEKEND? Fuggetaboutit. Don't let the root get dry and try to keep light off the roots. Even the RW may benefit with a cover like a cut out paper plate or something. This will keep the algae and other greenies from growing.
