I've posted a couple of times already and have been reading this forum on/off for awhile already now, but I figured it was about time that I introduced myself! My name's Kim and I've been involved with growing marijuana in some way or another for over three years now. The first attempt was with my brother-in-law as partner. He'd grown with a different partner very successfully for many, many years (got popped by the feds eventually because they stupidly got involved in other things), but after they parted ways and we started growing together, it became crystal clear who the brains of that operation had been. It wasn't my brother-in-law. :(

After struggling for over a year and never getting more than half an ounce per plant at harvest, we shut down. At that point, I wasn't involved other than occasionally watering and trimming when needed. Well, and crying my face off every time we weighed stuff. haha

Fast forward a year and I had the opportunity to grow with my brother-in-law's former partner. He's a friend of the family that we've all known for many, many years. Our first harvest was good, almost 3 oz. per plant after a 4 week veg and 6 week flower. After what I'd been through before, getting 3 ounces was like hearing angels singing. Then my partner was actually diagnosed with cancer and my fiance and I were left to handle the second crop on our own. We got less than half an ounce per plant after burning them early on in veg. They almost died and it was a horrible experience.

There's a TON of stuff I'm leaving out, but after a bunch of other stuff went down, I cut my fiance out of the picture and took things over myself. We're still together, he's just not in charge anymore. I guess I should've done that years ago, but hey, I had other things going on! I'm a tarot reader in my other life :)

Now I'm 100% in control of what's going on and things are looking good. I'm 6 days into flower in my original grow room. It's 15x12 or so and I've got six 1000 watt set ups with cooled hoods, proper ventilation and air flow, temp control, etc. We'd had CO2 for our first grow but had borrowed it and had to give it back, so we didn't have it for the second one. I just recently purchased one, so now we'll have CO2 for the flower room.

We're in the process of putting up a separate room for veg right next to the flower room. I've chosen to go with 600 watt cfls in there, four total sets with one 12 foot long shelf about five feet up. The first row sits on the floor and the lights are hung from the shelf. The walls aren't up yet, but we have fans and stuff all ready to go and it should be done this week.

I clone in an aeroponic cloner that has like 120 spots in it or so. I pruned and topped my current crop about 10 days ago and I had so many extra clones that I threw them into some trays. They all seem to be rooting well, I've only lost a few. I've got T5s over the cloner and trays.

I've struggled with spider mites, temperature probs, accidentally burning the plants by dropping the lights too low, etc. but I'm learning. I've gotten tons of great info from this forum and lots of other sites online. I've been online since the mid 90's when I was a teenager and I know it's a good way to make contacts too.

That's the biggest problem I've run into so far. I live in WA and I've got a script, etc. but can't seem to find anyone interested in what I've got. And it's not because it's bad or anything, our first stuff was beautiful, perfect....I couldn't even get anyone to look at it, even though they all said they would.

So that's me and where I'm at, in a nutshell. I'm enjoying the process A LOT more than I ever thought I would now that I've taken over and kinda sorta almost know what I'm doing. I'm the type of person that when I get into something, I really immerse myself in it intensely for as long as I need to in order to feel competent and that's what I'm doing now. Hoping to also connect with some local people maybe...who might be able to help me get my foot in the door, so to speak.

Thanks to everyone who's already helped me out by putting great info up here on this forum and those who answered anything I asked directly. I look forward to participating on here and seeing how much more I can learn! Here's to everyone's success.

Keep getting smarter, I've found that females make good growers, specially the ones that listen.

Thanks. Here are some pics of my op. The first one is walking into my garage. That's my room inside the room...it's 15x12 or so, I think. The second pic is the other side of that room, the other half of my garage. We're in the process of putting up another room for veg, should be done this week and I'll probably take more pics and put them up too.

Pic 3 is of our clones in the cloner. Pic 4 is half of my flower room. We're on day 7 of flower and we had a few stragglers, so they're out under the veg lights and it looks somewhat bare in the flower room right now, but the plants are looking very good. Pic 5 is just another view of the flower room.

Pic 6 is kind of a long story. I got some seeds from this guy, a poly hybrid he'd developed himself and hadn't grown yet. I planted 5 seeds and 3 came up. Two of them went through flower fine and we smoked it and LOVED IT. Then a catastrophe happened and we lost all of the clones I'd taken from the plants by mistake. (this is part of the reason I took over our entire grow op...my partner messed up big time). We had this one plant left that we hadn't chopped down yet, so I threw it back into veg. after doing a little research. This is what it looks like now, after having been back in veg for about 3 weeks (we got plenty of clones from it) and now having been in flower for a week. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done flowering this time.

Pic 7 is my favorite plant of this crop. This is the first time I'd topped and made an attempt at super cropping. I was so freaked out when I was done, the plants looked all skeletal and freaky, but they filled out so beautifully. They all look similar, but for some reason, this one's just my favorite :)

I've never put pics up on this forum, so I hope this works!

Thanks! And yep, most of the time. Took my 15 best clones out of the cloner today and put 'em into solo cups to get them ready to distribute (they're already spoken for). Came back an hour later and they were all wilted and dead looking, I've never seen anything like it before. I've got my fingers crossed that they come back to me. I had 'em under a humidity dome and in darkness, which is what I always do right after I take clones from the cloner. No clue what happened. Maybe I just left 'em out in the open too long or something. I'm hoping they bounce back. Roots were all fuzzy and at least 2 inches long, so I'm hoping they look normal when I go out to check in the morning! Fingers crossed. That'll really suck if they're dead.

If you are in Seattle visit Choice Wellness Center. The people there are very friendly and professional. I'm sure they would be interested in taking a look at what you have. The door is a little hard to find, but while you are there go to Alladdin's for the best gyros you will ever get to eat. :)
