I have 3 ladies but upon harvest one of them had seeds. How can this be? I'm assuming one went hermie. My question is this-- are the seeds from this plant useless? Will it just produce more hermies?

the seeds should be alright in fact they will be female if the seeds were from a hermie. They would carry the same genetics of the mother

More than just a few seeds, but not a lot. What caused this to happen? Thanks for your input.

Under certain situations (stress) a female plant can produce male pollen and self-pollinate. If your plant is a true hermie there should have been evidence of male and female flowers on the plant. It also would have pollinated any other females in flowering stage in close proximity to it. I would kill off any hermies if I were you. The seeds will carry the same hermie traits as the mother plant. I don't know about you but I put a lot of effort into my grows and the last thing I need is hermie seeds. I want BUDS! Potency of hermies are lower since once the female buds are pollinated the plant goes into seed production and THC isn't needed for producing seed.

I have heard different stories about hermie seeds. I have heard that seeds off a hermie plant will be a hermie plant. But I have also heard that they are guaranteed female seeds. If there were only a few seeds, I would say they are good seeds. But if there are a lot of seeds, I probably wouldn't plant too many at one time. Do a few and see how they end up.

I still don't understand. What exactly casuses stress on a plant that would turn it to be a hermie? I had 3 females but one had seeds? The other two were untouched. I know there was no light exposure during their sleep time. It appears that the seeds were only on one plant and they were on the lower branches. What gives?

It could be a number of things. Hermies are hard to understand. It could be pH fluctuation, too much or too little nutrients. Are you growing in soil or hydro? Could be too much salt and that could be blocking nutrients which will stress the plant out. It could be a number of things that caused the plant. If the seeds got too hot or too cold before being planted. Something happened and it is so hard to figure it out. But, with enough research and patience it shouldn't happen again, and at least if it does you have the knowledge to troubleshoot the problem. I downloaded a book and will get you some more information on what could have happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

You can look up and print out signs of cannabis abuse and it will give you a table of all elements involved in growing and what each will do due to toxicity or deprevation of elements. It could have been then seed but given that you only found them on the bottom it sounds more like stress. Something did it, you just gotta figure it out. So good luck. There is a lot of information on this site. If you go to the hermie forum, I had a lot of educational responses to my hermie problem a few months back. Good luck :smokin:
