My closet is 7 feet long by 4 feet wide by 7 1/2 feet high....the cubic feet if im correct is 210, Ive read some sites say you want to exchange air every 2 minutes then some say 5 minutes. So at 2 minutes it would be 105cfm and 5 minutes it would be 42cfm. Which should I am for? My issue is I have a fan/filter combo I bought from my local HTG supply store, the fan (4 inch) is rated at 170cfm and the filter is 150-265 cfm. Only problem is it doesn't seem like its helping with the odor at all, and now that my plants are far into flowering the smell is really potent. What am I missing here? I have the air being pulled in through the filter and its mounted high near my ceiling about midway on the side in my closet. I just dont get why it doesn't seem to be working, I started to buy a new fan/filter but after doing all the calculating it appears that my fan/filter combo should be enough. Do I need a fan speed controller? Is the air being pulled through to fast or? Im lost right now and need to fix this asap as I haven't been able to have company over because my house smells like a family of skunks have died in it heh....Thanks!!!

do you have an intake fan if not replace the exaughst fan and put it were the air comes in the room but keep the carbon filter on the exaust so the pressure would push the air through the carbon filter to escape ,if little to no air goes through then you would have a air leak some where in the room and p.s. the intake fan goes somewhere at the bottom of the room and the exaughst is on the opposite side of the room at the top ......hope this helps and good luck

HTG Supply - A GrowBright 4" Inline Fan & Carbon Filter Combo (http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-A-GrowBright-4in-Inline-Fan-&-Carbon-Filter-Combo.asp) is the setup I have.....its a closet with no outside air.....so the carbon filter should sit at the bottom of my closet with exhaust vent going up? Anyway you could explain that better? Sry im confused..maybe a diagram or link? Thanks for reply

Closed system, fan looks good, assume it's blowing good, think I'd look at filter. Maybe more is better, in this case.

Yea I have a hole cut out in my closet and its venting into the next room, I took the duct off to feel it and its blowing hard. I was a noob when first starting and ran my fan 24/7 from the start of vegeing though it did help with heat. Its been running constantly for almost 5-6 months now, thought they had a longer lifespan but was wondering if I should try replacing the filter. Might get a bigger one and try that is compatible with the fan I have see what happens. Still curious as to how growhand recommended setting it up so I could give that a try, thanks yall.
