Watering Seedlings And Other

Okay I'm on my first grow. I germinated my seeds using the paper towel method. I have filled 18oz disposable cups up with FoxFarm Light Warrior Seed Starter soil, and poked holds into the bottom of the cups for drainage. After I saw the taprrot, I planted the seedlings not to far down into the soil, and I placed a T5 fluorescent just above the cups. I also have the cups sitting on top of a heat pad. My temps are currently 78 degrees fahrenheit(°F)(in the mid to high 60s at night, but I have the cups on top of the heat pad),and my humidity is 40%.

How much do I water and how often? Am I doing everything correctly so far? When I planted them yesterday, I only moistened the soil using a distilled water and Cal-Mag solution. I didn't water to the point to where water drained; I only moistened the soil. It currently looks a little dry to me however.

Your temp and humidity sound good, and only water them when the cups feel light and at least the first inch or so of soil is bone dry.

Eventually your cups will dry out faster and faster, at which point you should transplant.



Go easy on the Cal-Mag, they wont be taking up too much of it yet.

Make sure not to overwater, the key is to dry 'em out without wilting them.
This makes them grow fastest.

The light warrior dries out pretty fast so you have to keep a close eye on it. Especially with a heating pad. The light warrior has to be watered slow so it just don't repel the water. I usually water, then wait a couple min, then water again til the cup feels heavy. When your checking, if the cup feels light, its time to water again. If i were you id raise the lights up a couple more inches til you start seeing a little stretch then you can get them as close as possible to the plant. No need to blast them as soon as they pop up. Looking good man.
