I'm using 2 26 Watt cfls and I just transplanted it into Sphagnum peat moss. However I forgot to big some vermeculite and I'm using miracle grow plant spikes.... I know everyone says they're bad but they've never done me wrong
. But I.noticed this brown spot on a leaf today and the leaves are kinda yellowish I think anyone know the problem Cal/mag deficiency? 290679 290680 290681 290682

Best of luck with this grow, DRB. I'm just not liking the medium and nutrients plan, Bub.

no it shouldn't be a deficiency because its only 2 maybe 3 nodes high and dosnt need nutes until the 4th node and dosnt need full dosages but my guess would be the peat moss probably need to mix it with some potting soil and it could also be the lack of light because 2 26w cfls are only good for seedlings or clone but good luck

leaf is curling up, tip browning off looks like it might be nute burn. all that peat could also be bringing the ph way down. gotta agree with these guys. conditions could be improved.

That's definitely nute burn...needs to be put into a soiless mix with no nutes

well if you plan sticking with peat, your gonna need lime to help balance out the acidity just to get started. as you said most will tell you get rid of the fert spikes
but i know people who use them all the time, cant say their grows are any better for it. not sure what the ratios are but it would surprise me if they were suited for herb.
if i was you id do a quik search for soil mixes...actually i think there is forum specifically for that.

Actually I did lime it out before I used it for the transplant, and here's how she's looking today, 290691 290692 290693 Also its day 14 and these cfls put out 2200 lumens a piece soi think that's pretty good for a little yield I'm only expecting an ounce or two.... that would make me a happy camper
