I'm perusing seed sellers for my very first crop, and I'm looking for an easy to grow indoor strain with good medicinal qualities. I need pain relief, tension relief, anti-inflammatory and help with depression. I know that's a lot to ask - but I'll be happy with any relief I can get. So I'm thinking an indica strain like White Widow. I'm only going to grow 3 plants, so just want to do one or two strains. Anybody growing for medicinal reasons have a favorite that's easy for a beginner? It's hard for me to compare strains with what I read on seed websites.

Can we mention favorite seed shops here? Most reliable ones who'll ship to the US?

It sounds like you need something you can use throughout the day (daily smoker) - This isn't white widow. White widow is a medicine best used at the very end of the day, it will cover all your symptoms, but isn't that great with depression. I personally use G13 Labs Pineapple Express - I'm currently working on getting larger yields, but the best I've got so far is about 6oz.

Pineapple is a good cross of what your looking for, so are the 'cheese' and 'cream' strains. If you don't mind something that knocks you out (zombifies) or you don't have to worry about work schedule, WW is great!

As far as seed banks, I use the attitude exclusively, they've always done me right!

Thanks so much for your answer. I don't have a job and I'm not out and about much, but I don't want to be a zombie all day (maybe at night would be nice). :) But I'll look into the pineapple, cheese and cream strains. Maybe I'll get 3 different plants to try, as long as they are in the same height range or something. Are the autoflowering strains easier to grow for a beginner? I'm getting a good light set up and timer anyway.

I don't like auto flower, tried it once and they died and dried up on me on their own, and they hadn't swelled yet. Smoked like ass too.

I like the photo strains, simply because I love to clone. I'm a clone freak. I've got 2 strains in flower, and 5 cloning, LOL

White Widow and Pineapple Express both have about the same flowering time. Although my pineapples have been finishing in 6 weeks (amazing). The last WW I did, I put it into flower when it was only about 5" tall and it gave me a good 12 grams of quality QUALITY smoke in 8 weeks. I'm not a fan of most indicas, but these are two mixes that do me just fine!

I would recommend AK47...it's relatively easy to grow, is an uppy energetic high that lets you get stuff done, and it's still good for what ails ya. It's still my daily grind weed, after 5 years of growing. I have tried and grown out quite a few strains and I always go back to this stuff.

All great suggestions, but people never seem to mention Jack Herer.
In addition to winning a ton of awards, I've read that this strain has been officially recognized as pharmaceutical weed by the Dutch.

Sensi Seeds Jack Herer (http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/sensiseedbank/sensi-seeds-jack-herer.html) is a nice one, but lots of breeders offer Jack Herer for a variety of pricepoints.

Vision Seeds probably has the most affordable one.

All these strains are fairly balanced for both mental and physical effects & no knock-you-out couchlock.

You're welcome to check them all out on our site (Rhino Seeds), but we don't ship to the US - sorry.

All good choices from what I'm reading. Now I just have to decide 3 to pick outta all these. Maybe White Widow, Blue Cheese, and Pineapple Express. Then I'll go back and try the others later. Jack Herer and ak47 sound good too. I'm amazed at all the species. When I smoked 20+ years ago, it was just some green stuff in a baggie. Never knew what it was or what its effect might be on a given night. Yeah, I'm old enuf to remember dime bags. (ack!)
