Does having a regular floro make it better for a plant rather than having a CFL of the same watts? (both being low heat and real close to the plant with a fan)

If anything, Harddon or someone could you tell me whether they think a closet setup would be better off with the long floros (i think we have a few fixtures for em in the garage) or the kind Harddon has (man I know too much about your plants lol). Right now I have the swirly one but in order for me to get more lights in a nice setup I'd need a different type of bulb I think. HPS is simply unaffordable right now but will probably be gotten in time for 12/12. Any help would be very appreciated.

Da1,

The main problem with the CFL you are using now is in the light spectrum they produce. You can compensate for the limited spectrum, to a degree, by using MORE oif what you already have.

The bulbs I have are 5500K and 6400K CFL.

The output of these bulbs are simply enormous.

I have seen some really good grows with the long tubes but you gotta have MORE of them. Your lights will work, but, you need a shitload of lumens from your CFL.

I would prefer the CFL you are using now over the long tubes, but, youre gonna need a shitload of them.

You wont grow bushy plants with 42W of CFL.

In fact, I have a 250W HPS unit I bought for $100.00.

HOw about you pay for shipping and I just give it to you.

I even went to Home Depot and bought a brand new 250W HPS bulb for it, still in the package.

They are both yours.

Email me your address, if you want...

pay for shipping and the setup is yours.

HAPPY GROWING!
