On May 10th 2005 the us senate passed the Real-ID act. You can read all about it here http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/05/05/11/0119205.shtml?tid=158&tid=103&tid=172&tid=219 and I'm not sure what it all is going to mean. I'm pretty sure its something that I don't like it seems that we are loosing more and more freedoms everyday. How do you like minded folks feel about this, and the United States becoming a surveillance state in general?

I am not sure how I feel on this quit yet. I am sure the gov could get any information about you that they wanted, but now it's going to be easier. Wait and see........

They should only be able to access sensitive information like this with a crime warrant. If they tried to do it for guns the NRA would go phycho and it wouldn't pass. I mean, isn't an M16 more dangerous than a '89 Silverado? I support the NRA, but they really are going to far on gun control gun check. Violent criminals shouldn't be able to buy guns at a gun show and gun licenses and purchase records should be availible to the police if they have a warrant for investigation.
