Has everyone heard the story about how the cure for Polio was released 6 years after it was discovered? For 6 years, people lived and died with Polio and didn't have to.

Have you ever thought about what a natural cure for diabetes or cancer would do to our FDA, the private corporations in that industry, and/or the economy?

As each day passes I get more and more scared that mj will never be legal.

We all know the debate. Its' abso-fucking-lutely absurd that it's not legal. If you're ever in a discussion w someone, just go with alcohol. It's bulletproof. No one can give a legitimate response when you juxtapose a harmless substance that's illegal to a deadly one that isn't.

So wtf?

Here's what I'm scared of:

If there is too much economic loss in the face of legalization of mj, then it will never happen.

Imagine all of the narcotics officers who lose their jobs, imagine prison gaurds and correctional officers having to reduce staff, and imagine the entire industry of the war on cannabis shutting down. Will the government even let that happen? Or are they content with letting us nitpick through 50 states, decriminalization, legalization, and all the red tape bs that goes with it, just because they know that we will probably kill ourselves with nuclear war before they let a bunch of potheads reduce the size of government.

Can someone reassure me

:greenthumb:

imagine a free world where one can grow and consume all the cannabis they need. And from what i'm learning from reading about Rick Simpson and others is that our bodies need this natural herb to supplement another natural occurring molecule that the body produces that finds and and then fights off diseases, such as cancer. when the body is low on this natural occurring molecule then it supplements its perfect analog, the cannabis molecule. thus, the natural whole cannabis molecule is literally good for what ails you.

imagine the pharmaceutical industry meltdown that will occur when people understand this and begin to grow all their own meds. imagine the rubber, paper, petro, cotton, and all the related chem industries needed to provide pesticides, etc. needed to support them, that will go bust when the great American hemp plant dots our homeland again. imagine the pyramid of federalies that will crumble to the ground when federal cannabis prohibition is ended. imagine the other side of their coin, the drug cartels, they will lose about 80% of gross revenues, a massive chunk of change. and of course the private prison industry, the pee pee testers, etc. i could go on and on but i'm preaching to the choir, i'm sure.

imagine the evaporation of the war industry as people discover what a corrupt piece of shit the people are who own our gov't.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but ...
