Okay, so I'm 6 weeks into flowering and for a few weeks my house has smelled a little bit. Friends have commented when they walk in and it freaks me out.
I have a grow tent. I have insulated duct and a hydrofarm inline fan sucking fresh air into my tent from the outside. From a vent on the other side of the tent, I have more duct leading out of the tent. Air is getting sucked through that duct and into my carbon filter. You can watch this 2 minute video to see how I have mine set up. Start the video at the 50 second mark please. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE61JM9dRlQ&list=FLVpnsGTGMjErr0PY7YEbkxQ&index=1 My method is the SECOND method on the video. Anyway, my house smells like weed a little even though I have my carbon filter. Is this because I'm not running the fans all day? Is it because I need to move my filter INSIDE the tent? I know others who have their filters outside the tent and there's no smell.
IF I need to run the fans all day, how do I stop all the freezing outside air from killing my plants? I usually only run the fans during the 12 hour "lights on" cycle when the lights heat can combat the cold air from the outside. When the tent heats up to 78 degrees my fans kick in and cool down the tent. If I leave fans on all day, the tent will get down to below 60 degrees in no time. Since both fans are hooked up to the thermostat I have no way of running JUST the out take fan ONLY.
Suggestions? Thanks!
