CURING PROCESS HELP

My question is this, I had hung/air dried my entire outdoor super skunk crop in a quasi cool dark 65F environment. All seems to have gone well. My entire home had a smell so intoxicating that I'm sure I was medicated while tending to them. I let them cure for maybe 2.5 - 3 weeks & let a bunch of the bottom flowers to go an additional couple weeks. Placed all of the finished product in 1 Qt. ball jars sitting in a cool/dark environment. I sampled many a bud via vape/traditional since & it's total knock out & know that I could get a bit better taste to it but how? Could it be that I'm new & didn't stop nutes in the last 1.5 weeks nor did I flush properly? Again I'm fairly new with a green thumb & constantly learning about how strong yet delicate this whole process could be. Know there are many ways in doing this kinda like raising children for goodness sakes... & ya could take that Dr Spock book & throw it down the friggn drain lol!! Gotta say its really helping me, pain wise/creatively etc. Thanks to all & feedback would be greatly appreciated. Peace

umm if your asking how will flushing and stopping your nutes bring you more flavor
its because flushing is the proccess of draining all off the chemicals or nutes out of your soil there for detoxing your plant
its not only flavor that is the benefit of flushing it also helps the smoke not to be so harsh
and adding nutes to till the end wil not increase yield so its basically throwing it down the drain
also if you cure for 6 months your marijuana will become vintage but i dont know anyones that done this personally but its worth a shot!!!!!

They are all in ball jars, does this count in the "aging process"? Been in the jars for like 4 months & could be right because they appear more "pungent" when I pop a caps on a few of them.

Burp the jars when you see moisture forming on the jar. If you can go buy a hygrometer that will help with drying your buds correctly. That way you can monitor the RH inside the jar, if it increases several % an hour, you want to burp them for an hour or two, this can be done with the lid off, or you can put it in a brown paper bag for a more even dry. A 3 week cure is good, month or more is optimal. Heres some more info to help with RH levels if you buy a hygrometer.

Cut the product, trim it per your preference, but don't dry it until the stems snap. Take it down while the stems still have some flex, but the product feel dry on the outside. This is a perfect opportunity to drop the dry-feeling flowers onto a screen and collect prime-quality kief that would otherwise get lost in the jar.

Jar the product, along with a Caliber III hygrometer. One can be had on Ebay for ~$20. Having tested a number of hygrometers - digital and analog - this model in particular produced consistent, accurate results. Then, watch the readings:

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.

65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.

60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing.

55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period (3 months or more) without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

Below 55% RH - the RH is too low for the curing process to take place. The product starts to feel brittle. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet. If you measure a RH below 55% don't panic. Read below:

Obviously, the product need time to sweat in the jar. As such, accurate readings won't be seen for ~24 hours, assuming the flowers are in the optimal cure zone. If you're curing the product for long-term storage, give the flowers 4-5 days for an accurate reading. If the product is sill very wet, a +70% RH reading will show within hours. If you see the RH rising ~1% per hour, keep a close eye on the product, as it's likely too moist.

Alrighty Then; Unidentified bud I was hauling in & out of the house back in August, remember? Well here are the pics. Dank is probably the best way to describe. Been sitting in 1 Qt. Ball jars. Started taking lids off allowing them to cure naturally. It's been approx. 4.5 months +/- a day or so since placed in jars. Very potent that I cannot finish a bone in a sitting & certainly wouldnt dare drive. I agree eliminating nutes @ the end of a grow. So much to learn & so little time. Sometimes wish that I possessed this knowledge when I was young? Nahhh, "it's all good"! So, back to the plant, now almost dry all of the buds are a still a bit spongy but dry. When ground down it leaves a sticky fragrant aroma on the grinder as well as the room! The flavor is extremely intense & spicy, a tad different from the "Super Skunk".

The taste was exquisite with heavy pine notes, def not skunky..... Consistent fragrant taste. This was part of an "unknown seed" so hoping I may find one or 2 in the batch.

ya, shit ya. I cure in jars and I don't smoke any of it until at least one month after it's 'finished' (where the bud stays dry after being in an unopened jar for a few days). Then I usually smoke the least favorite bud until they are 3 months cured. What I'm smoking now was harvested 7/28/2012.
