This is my first attempt at ever growing a plant. I got the seed from my friend and planted it in October 2012. It is about two and a half months old. The bottom leaves started turning light green with the veins staying dark in color. They are also drooping and the tips of them are starting to turn brown and curl up. I have only been growing it in window light down here in south florida and it pretty much gets all the sunlight through the whole day. Its in a 3 gallon bucket with miracle grow potting soil. I transplanted it into this bigger pot like 3 weeks ago and it seemed to have been doing fine until just recently. Not sure why the bottom leaves are doing this. Any help?? Thanks

here is a close up of one of the bottom leaves. I try to keep the dirt wet without over watering and there are holes in the bottom of the bucket for any excess water to run out.... but like i said, its my first attempt, so im not sure if im even watering it correctly. Any advice would be great.

I'm a South Florida guy myself. Well, moved a few years ago, but born and raised on the TC. I've only got a grow under my belt, but it went very well with some old pro's from this forums help. I read up alot on the watering and i found when the dirt was constantly wet, my leaves drooped and some of the bottom ones withered away. I would water, wait until the soil felt dry on the top, then water again. I've seen posts where people kept the soil constantly wet, and the roots were water logged. I've also seen alot of people that get little gnat problems because of it too. Humidity is nasty there, you know that though. Hopefully someone with a little more experience can swing by and help more.

Thanks for the reply. I think im gonna try that out with longer time in between watering... I was also reading a bunch of stuff on the miracle grow potting soil not being so ideal. I havent added any extra nutrients but maybe it has something to do with that.
