Closet setup one problem

I live in apartments ill only have one plant flowering at a time do I need to worry about the smell with just one plant?if so any possibilities on how to keep the smell out of the top an bottom floor?

just cover the smell with potpourri or plug in air fresheners if it gets smelly. There is a gel, Ona that controls odor too.
