View Full Version : Buds went to seed
I am not an experienced grower, but 5 weeks into the bud cycle all of the buds are ruined? They all have seeds. This has never happened before. I noticed a couple seeds, I had to go to the ER and when i got back (several days)all the plants were ruined. What did I do? Or didnt do this time....I almost pulled eveything out so i could start over but the buds are still so healthy just full of seeds lol This is my first post so thanks for any help. Cheers!

You might as well smoke it when ready. Will not be as strong compared to a female plant but smokable.
Give your grow space a very very thorough clean before starting afresh.
Unfortunately leaving your plants stranded for a few days will normally have a bad affect rather than a positive affect.
Good luck with your next grow. ATB

Not any way to say what you did. My guess is that you had a hermie plant that popped a couple male pods, and released pollen all over the plant. If this happens; I just finish the plants dry them and smoke them. As mentioned; Not ooptimum, but still worth it especially if you were into the 6th week. I would not have pulled them until they were finished though (Especially Sativa). If they were an indica pheno; You might have some decent smoke. Good Luck

Ive seen this happen due to plant stress as well. If your temps are way out of whack during flowering, or if you interrupt the light cycle too often.. it can stress the plants out and make them turn hermie and pop seeds.. Keep your 12/12 regiment flawless, and your temps constant.. and you should avoid problems like this in the future. The worst is when you get clones that were taken after the flip to 12/12.. they pop little nuggets out and have to be forced back into veg before flowering again.. this is also BAD and often leads to hermies.. Sorry to hear about your luck... but hey.. at least you will have a nice bag of seeds to plant a sweet outdoor crop next summer.. WOOT! ;-)
Thanks to everyone who replied..I think a combination of neglect (grrrr) and possible interruption of the light cycle. Plants are still growing they look great just you know, NOT GREAT. Live and learn thanks again L

Your advice on different stress is accurate, and stress causes hermies, but no stress will make seeds magically pop out of a plant. You have to have male pollen sacks, or pollen from another plant grown currently or previoously; leaving a residue of pollen on walls, etc.
