Okay, I started some seeds at the end of November and in my haste I used a kitchen fluorescent two bulb fixture with regular bulbs. I know that I can't use it for too long, and T5 lighting is out of the question, but I guess my question would be would CFL's with my existing lighting be sufficient for growth til flowering?

Yeah it would, but when you do flower you will want higher powered lighting such as HPS. The problem with regular bulbs and shop lights is the light penetration is small and your plants will grow tall and skinny. Well, depending on how many lights you use and how many ladies you have. I have used all kinds of lights and have had all kinds of results. One time I grew just 1 plant, and surrounded it with CFLS 23w, veg and flower, and the smoke turned out decent. But if you are planning on doing anymore then 2-3 girls, you are going to want to invest in better lighting, trust me. So to answer your question, you could use CFLS in both stages. Lighting spectrum of 5000k-6500k for veg, 2300k for flower.
