Lights off before harvest??

Im harvesting saturday and am wondering if I should shut my lights off for 24 hours or more before harvest. I heard that with the lights off for extra long the plants sugar production will go into overdrive thus producing more crystals. Thanks

Exactly. Go for 36 hours though, that's my general rule.

I've also found it beneficial to drop temps and starve the plant towards the end of flowering. This is because trichomes are a defense mechanism to protect the fruits of the plant from the elements. So abusing it a little will usually cause more trichs to form.

the theory behind this method is that it causes the existing trichomes to swell up and increase in size by up to 30%.

the method does not produce more trichomes or more crystals. It just makes the existing ones get a little bigger.

it is also said that this method is strain specific and that most strains will not experience this effect.

As this has bin tested it does not work on all strains and for the ones that where tested you needed 72 hrs of darkness to see actual results
