Hİ,

i need some help on determining how long the vegetative period of acapulco gold seeds should take? The ones who grew acapulco gold and have experience or knowledge ,Pls share ideas on aeroponic system i grow 4 plants under 300watt in a grow box with dimensions 1.20x1.20 meters..

i kept them 3 weeks on vegetative phase 1 now they are in second phase for the last 5 days they are almost 35 cm now.İ am not quite sure when exactly to switch flowering phase.

Thanks

They don't really "take" any amount of time, because there is no mandatory minimum amount. You can grow any MJ from seed to seed under flowering conditions. That being said I'd wait until they are about 2' - 3' tall then flower them, probably bending over some branches along the way, because they will be tall, and slow to ripen. But in the end you should have some big long coke cans.

Watch for pre-flowers during veg. Once you see these, flip them anytime. Keep in mind they'll probably triple in height during the stretch.Peace, Farmer Rich

I do not know aeroponic. I think if you want to achieve maximum yield you will want to veg as large as the capacity of your rooting vessel and the height is somewhat dictated by the lighting systems penetration power. In soil, 400 watt fixtures I veg eight weeks from seed pop. I top just about all the different strains very early in seedling and if needed, again up to the point when the plant shows sex. I like to have the plant at 50 cm tall or a little taller for a quick finishing indica. If you have a 1 meter tall flowering female that would be a good height for the 300 watt lamp to have power to radiate energy from the canopy top to the bottom buds of the plant. I trim all the 'hair off the ladie's legs'. That is, I keep the green growth trimmed off the bottom third of the plant. Acapulco Gold was my favorite herb around 1974-75. That's the only time it was around. Good growing, Espana28

Regarding areoponics.. I tried this using a kind of hybrid system (aka Stink Bud) that used sprayers and NFT timers. It does work. On the other hand, when something goes wrong you will lose everything in the system. From a yield standpoint, you won't get anymore bud using this method. Yield is a function of plant size and flower sites.. nothing really magic. My recommendation is to use soilless mix in regular pots. Gives you plenty of control and a buffer in case you screw something up.. Peace, Farmer Rich
