I know its a little late but I didn't want to post a grow journal until my set up was at least decent enough. Growing for myself and my brother who has cancer so hopefully we can benefit from this both as patients and gaining some knowledge of mj gardening.

So here's the set-up

12 plants. Mostly some kind of purple kush, (was so excited I forgot to label them before planted and can't find the receipt to see exactly which strain) a few mystery strains, 2 clones, (1 og, and 1 lavander) and one sour diesel:stoned:
All were started from seed except the 2 clones.
Used the paper towel method which got most to sprout in 2-3 days
I put them in starter peat pots then after they sprout, transfer them into their final pots. Some I had to transplant 2x because of explosive growth
5 of the plants are in 5 gallon aero/smart pots and the rest are in 2-5 gallon misc. plastic pots.
Lighting is an Apollo 1000w cool hood that excepts both MH and HPS lights
1000w Apollo digital dimmable ballast
1 4 inch exhaust fan (not sure of the CFM since I got it from my dad, but I estimate it around 350CFM)
The fan is currently pulling air from a passive intake down low, the going through the light and up and out the other side.
I have mounted the fan on a T.V. tray. (I know ghetto)
For additional side lighting I have 1 125w CFL and 1 100w CFL
Soil is Kellogg organic potting soil mixed with Worm castings, Kelp meal, blood meal, bone meal, and perilite
Nutes are Fox Farm Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, and Grow Big which I use every other watering at 1/2 strength
All of this is housed in a 8ft long x 4ft wide x 6.2ft tall
2 digital timers
1 small oscillating fan
1 9k BTU portable ac unit

My plants are a little are approx. 60-68 days old from seed and I just flipped to 12/12 19 days ago. They are already showing really good signs of flowering and some of the plants are even flowering on the lower branches, with multiple flower on some of the upper nodes. The plants range from about 18-24 inches + in height

I vegged the plants under a MH light for a little under 2 month then switched.

Some upgrades I plan to add
I just bought a 4"x14" carbon filter rated at 200cfm
Another inline fan rated at 440cfm. I will use the larger fan to cool the lights and the smaller one to exhaust the room. What I plant on doing is running a passive intake then duct through the cool tube, then duct to the fan, then up and out. The exhaust with the filter will be ran as filter attached to the fan the up and out
1 more CFL for side lighting
I plant on ditching the table that my fan is mounted on and hanging all the fans with hooks
1 de-humidifier to keep the humidity down. (my tent is partially outdoor)
I will be starting a new journal after I harvest. This time I plan on growing all the same strain and using all of my girls will be in the 5 gallon aero/smart pots.
I have learned a ton in my first grow thanks to hours of reasearch and this forum. Next time I will have everything set up before my grown so I don't have to work around it:cool:
Here are some pics with more to come.

Also look for the other part of this journal for the start of my 6 auto northern lights starting under 150w of CFL's and 1 LED Sunshine Systems LEDGP45 GlowPanel 28 Watt 45 LED Grow Light

More pics to come as soon as I can figure out why I cant get them of my pc onto here:mad:

The 3 girls (or hope-to-be girls) are doing very well in my closet under my LED light with one 26w CFL. I plan on adding a few more CFL's soon and I will most likely be growing the lone auto NLights under the LED and CFLs. And transfer the 2 carmelicious to my tent. This could be a very expensive hobby for me:greenthumb:

Update. Day 22. I've definitely notcied a difference in the last few days. A lot of the top nodes are starting to fill in with flowers. Pretty soon the stalk on the top will be completely covered with flowers.

Day 28. Well had an accident. I just redid some of my legal growroom. Added some hanging CFL's for some needed extra light, removed the ducts from my light, and transferred them over to my new carbon filter with exhaust. Well apparently I placed the filter to close to the edge of my table and it along with my blower fell over on to 3 of my plants and really did some damage. So far all the plants appear that they're going to make it, but I had to trim several broken branches and even tape up one that had a broken main stalk:( I will be adding another fan tonight to cool my light so I have some more pics. up in the next few days. Heres a few of my small closet grow. They are really taking off!

Got my new 440 fan and it is hanging up now in my tent. Will be installing the ducting tonight and have pictures up. Heres a few more of my LED/CFL grow in my closet. After a few weeks under the LED they are turning out to be monsters. Not sure how much longer they'll last in my closet

288035Sorry everyone that its been so long without an update. Been real busy and have been recently battling a spider mite problem. :(
I was starting to run out of room as my 2 healthy ladies are ready to be transferred out from under my led veg room to the 1000w HPS so I plucked one of my plants early. Not too bad for my first harvest. Still need to trim, dry, and cure everything, but take a look. Don't be to harsh as this is some of the mid-grade stuff I got off a clone.

you sir have a spider mite infestation! If you dont kill them all right away theyll latch on to your smaller plants and wreak havoc for another 3 monthes. I've had whole grows get scrapped because the mites took over. Do anything and everything you can to kill them. They grow resistances to pyrethrins and other pesticides so be sure to use a few different methods. Also, spray them ever 3 days for a week and a half. Once you kill the adults you have larvae that are 3 days away from hatching and causing more damage. Spider mites are public enemy number 1 when it comes to marijuana!

what are you average temps?

How can you tell that from those pics?

You are right though. I think I got the little bastards. I sprayed with mighty wash and then rinsed off with water. I was too late in flower to do much else. I actually harvested the rest of my crop and it appears to be ok. The new plants that were put into my tent were sprayed with neem and I disinfected the tent completely. I will be applying neem again soon. Average temps are about 74-78 with lights and cooling fans on and about 65 during the day with them off

Should I throw away the bud in this picture

Did most of my harvest last weekend going to finish up the remaining 3 girls this weekend. After hang drying it all week this week it should be ready to trim and cure. Then ill be hanging the rest. 10 plants total im estimating about 400-500 grams. My buddies think more since a few of my colas weighed 40+ grams freshley picked but id be happy with 1lb. Pics will be up soon

Aagh...Spider Mites. Buy some Food grade codex diatomaceous earth, and a garden duster. Dust upward under leaves where the Bastards hide out. This will eradicate the pests.
Do it again in 2 weeks to eradicate the hatchlings, and then after another week. Give the plants a shower rinsing all the fodder away. DE works, and is the only thing I have ever found that wipes out Spider Mites.
