I need some reassurance here.. I've used Quick Fix successfully 4-5 times and I have faith in the product. However, I have a test coming up this week for a new job and I'm disconcerted about the following blurb I read on the Spectrum Labs site (youreinluck.com):
"If you have purchased Quick Fix at below standard prices you most likely have purchased an illegal, counterfeit product that will not work."
Standard prices on the Spectrum site are $45.00 for the 3oz (QF Plus). However, I picked it up at my local headshop for $19.99. I have bought Quick Fix from here in the past a couple times. I'm pretty sure the cheaper product from the headshop has worked for me (I can't remember for certain though as I've bought it a few times and not had to use it). Everything leads me to believe it is legitimate product. The handwarmer is "Spectrum Labs" brand. It is batch P9F-12. It looks identical to QF I've purchased before that definitely did work.
Is this something I should worry about? Or is this just Spectrum scaring us into buying it directly from them at a premium?
This headshop is a respectable shop in Denver with a few stores in the metro area. I'm just confused that they've been selling it at less than half price for awhile now. I think a year or two ago I picked some up even for $14.99.
Any input (particularly from BT) would be encouraging. I could probably order some tomorrow because I don't think my test will be until Tues or Weds.
Peace,
LP
