so i watched this national geographic called "high on marajuana" you may have seen it .the programme showed how the body works when inhailing and eating cannabis the effects and all that. but one thing it pointed out is that weed with lots of CBD is a mellower freindly buzz than the likes of a skunky plant with alot of THC and less CBD which can give you bad paranoia short bouts of psycosis and basically a bad trip.
i myself was wanting to grow a plant with a more mellow relaxed buzz,is there any methods of growing that can produce more CBD .... thats considering this CBD thing i true

the CBD claims are true - it tempers the psychoactivity & enhances the physical aspects
proponents say this is the key to medically effective cannabis for people who don't want or can't handle the high
i don't know that you can enhance CBD with growing techniques - it thing it's all in how the seeds are bred
here's something else to consider - to get the right effect, you want high CBD in relation to the THC levels
many say a 1 to 1 ratio is the best - check out CBD Crew (http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/cbdcrew.html) for seeds that fall in that category
it puts some people off to see a strain with only 5 to 7% THC, but I've heard that it really stops the paranoia
also, when researching, I see strains out there created by California breeders where the CBD is much higher than the THC
do a search on google for "project cbd" for more information - i was reading it yesterday, and it was very interesting

I've been using low thc/high cbd strains for chronic spinal pain and with really good effect. You want to look at CBD Crew strains and there are a couple of others breeders doing one strain each. I'm in NZ and Herbies & Attitude are all good. Just make sure you use the stealth option, with a t-shirt & crush proof tin. Also it pays to get CBD Crew beans while you can, because they sold out last year and nothing was available for many months. Hopefully they did more this year, but they are only a small breeder and they might not have been able to. Let me know if you want to know about the other strains available from the other breeders.

Cool!i got the t shirt, no crush proof tin but stealth. They are taking a real long time though(attitude)just about up to the 21 day limit:(.tracking says the package is still in america!!.Bit annoying really, its starting to get late into the season.
I ordered northern lights from nirvana as it seemed to be the cheapest and a cbd friendly indica.Wish i got got your help before i ordered, cbd crew sounds right up my ally....maybe next year, or we could meet up some time if you have grown some males for future growing.

:thumbsup:You will not be disappointed, one bit with northern lights. I use for pain control, plenty. Mostly, I like Blueberry for pain. I like Northern Lights, for bedtime (if I can get any).
You will be disappointed, if it is too strong for you. You fall asleep and miss it all! An excellent choice for pain control.
I believe NL is half blueberry. And a serious medication to contend with!
Enjoy your grow.. I'll be looking for a little grow show from ya!:rasta: pr

Unfortunately what's available from CBD Crew is all feminised beans. I had ordered a new strain called Otto 2, but it went AWOL both times it was sent. It's a waste of time using the tracking option and I'm surprised they are taking that long. I was put onto CBD Crew strains, but after I had placed a number of orders and I doubt that I will use them all. If you wait until next year they could be sold out by then and the next lot won't be until next October. Which is why I suggested getting some ASAP. The only other low THC/high CBD strain I know of is Cannatonic from Resin. Looks like they used to do regular and feminised beans. But they have always remained out of stock and I doubt they will do more anytime soon. Some of the auto strains have more than usual CBD, but it pays to do research and make sure your getting the right thing. Another strain I want to try is called Jorge's Diamonds #1. Which is said to be high in THCV, CBD & CBN. Which is from Dutch Passion & IMO the best grower in the world.

Funny you should say that, as it does the same to me and when I was younger. It would make me hyperactive and put me off my food. I've got a strain from World of Seeds, called NL x Skunk and its supposed to be good medicinally. Might not get the chance to enjoy that one, as I'm already on borrowed time and any day could be my last. Hopefully I'll be around for the next harvest as its all medicinal and I doubt that the recreational crew will like most of it. When I mention low THC (5-7%), they all starting thinking that I've lost the plot.

@black wizard, :jointsmile:that is not so uncommon..many have trouble. Plenty, depends on us and our personal chemical needs. I came down with a disease earlier this year, and not much worked to help me sleep. NL, Skywalker, Cheesus, Scarface, Grape Ape and naturally Blueberry---all helped me rest better. I am certain, if I had smoked more, it would have knocked me out. I have been in some smoking sessions and remained awake, from the great conversations! If alone, I am toking to sleep, rest or pain.
Last week the Inland Empire Health and Wellness Center; gave me some Hindu Kush, for sleep. So far, I am waking up to a bowl, that appears to have ONE toke gone! It has to be the best, for me, right now! I just love the fact that, it IS Working!!! I am really excited, actually!

Currently the auto-flowers (ruderalis) is being grown for the high CBD content. If I were growing 'strictly' for medicine..I might go that route for a new, first grow. I am not sure. All the strains are relatively new...someone has to try them! I've heard some good things about them. I expect the collectives/disp/caregivers may start experimenting, seriously; with auto and the push for CBD meds, 'is on', in California. I am sure everywhere.
Anyone that knows much about meds, "knows" you've not lost 'the plot.' However, I believe THC, sativa-like, is necessary for some degree of medicinal value. I have a feeling, the THC will only work for healing, if there is adequate CBD's...etc.
On the site that we go to, to map out weed dot com; it has plenty of lab tested strains, in some menu's. I like to look at those and use them to guide me in my choices. Many strains vary, as I met one guy that grows THC Bomb, his tests come back between 23%-27% on THC. It is sativa and a pleasant up lifting smoke for me. I can't sleep after using it. However, I do believe, IF I could, I could smoke enough of any strain to put me to sleep~Anyway, I'd like to believe that! Because the sativas of the '70's through '90's, did just that for me. However, I have changed.
The best choices I've made, were suggested to me, right here, at cannacom.
If the med is keeping you up, it is 'ful-filling' something you need. NL, I believe is half Blueberry and at least 70% Indica. I only use NL when I want to sleep. That is the joy of mmj, if we must function on it, we can.
Harvest, Yield, Taste, Aroma, strength and effectiveness
Yield / Quantity: The crop of this strain is ordinary.
Buds / Leaves: The ratio of buds to leaves is above average.
Bud Structure: The dried buds are hard and compact.
Strength / Lasting Effect: The weed is strong and long lasting.
General Impression
Northern Light (Nirvana Seeds)
(Indoor)
is all together extraordinary and quite recommendable
(On average 8 Points onto a scale between 0 and 10 !)
:rasta:Sure hope to see a grow log! pr

@black wizard: wounder if our dumb government would ever take to it For some reason I can't stop laughing! What a well stated, under-statement! LOL as an activist, it tickles my funny bone, having talked to so many that actually are part of our "dumb government." :stoned: pr
