I am seeing more and more people post about autoflower strains. From what I've been reading they are beginner-friendly which might be good for me. What are the benefits and or drawbacks of using autoflower? Im not even really sure what an autoflower strain is actually. Thanks

The benefit is you can veg them under 6500 24/0 then put them under 2700s for 24/0 and they'll bud much quicker - I've got a strain called 60 day wonder - From seed to harvest in 60 days, clone to harvest in 45.

drawback - they are hybrids from a ruderalis strain, the ruderalis is a notorious 'hemp' plant that can be short/medium/tall but typically has a low THC percentage. The key is to find a auto flower strain that has solid genetics that has been cross bread back to an indica/sativa enough to bring the potency up.

Have I grown it before? No, I've got my first one in germ now, I can't wait though, I'm just about out of product and that should be my next harvest (first).

I've studied alot before I did anything, I think you've seen my grow log, I've been doing MONTHS of reading.

If you just do an advanced search on that site and click the ruderalis strain, most of those are hybrids that are quick flowering.

Can you grow them just as well under an hps or mh light? So does that mean you can give them 24 hours of direct light from start to finish?

yup - most of them. If some can't take it, it'll be noted
