View Full Version : my first grow 250 watts cfl

This is my first real time growing investing any money into it,besides just throwing seeds in some miracle grow under a few low watt fluorescent tubes. It's quite strange how those plants seemed to be better off. i guess mine are doing okay,im growing under a 200 watt max lume 6500 k cfl,and two 2700 k 26 watt cfl's. I just re-potted them into 5 gallon pots,i feel like i did this a little early, but with good reason i started them in 6 inch clear plastic pots,i was told after they were a week old clear containers plus light equal algae, plus i started to see the roots pushing against the side of the pots. They all took the transplant very well, didnt seem to shock any of them, inside the 5 gallon pots im using happy frog growing medium mixed with roots organic(i believe thats what it's called)soiless. It's about 75% HF and 25%roots organic,I was a bit distraught at first when i moved them to their new homes and tested the run off water it tested low 4's,but come to find out if you put the perlite and roots organic at the very bottom like a small layer for drainage this causes you run off ph to be very low,so i tested the soil run off with no roots organic layer at the bottom and tested 6.5 exactly. I introduced them to less than quarter strength botanicare pro grow 3-2-4. I have no idea the strain, its some bag seeds out of an ounce of some real dank headies, all of them appear to be the same except one has very different traits and i believe it to be a different strain idk how, unfortunately that one is showing the slowest growth due to me damaging the roots about 3 days back,it had the smallest root system of them all. My room is always between 75-80 never higher,i have a fan for ventilation, and one of those reflector's you put in the windshield of your car around all the pots,it for sure helps reflect the light back to the plants. Some almost all leaves have a wavy look to them,i can't put my finger on what it might be, I have checked everything and found it to be satisfactory the plants still are healthy and growing rapidly so it's no affecting growth, they just dont look as pretty. It's not a big deal to me,but if anyone has some suggestions as to what may be causing it, all feedback is very appreciated and will never go un-looked. Any questions feel free to ask,if anyone could tell me how to post pics i would def do it.

Day 8 all the kids made a huge turn around all the leaves straightened out from their wavy jagged look, they look amazing nice and perky and happy looking I think they may have been root bound. All plants are showing new leaf growth, they love their new pots. Everything is on point and I have no complaints, if they are happy I am happy. I will post pics in a few days.

Day 11 huge improvements, plants are taking well to the new pots, and growing rapidly. Have not watered since the transplant to 5 gallon pots, Hasn't needed it. I spray the leaves with bottled water with less than quarter strength botanicare 1 time a day before night cycle, and then the next I spray with carbonated water to help with co2. Other than that not much to report.287026287027287028287029287030

Day 15, they are growing so rapidly I come home from work, and they have a brand new full grown set of fan leaves with another pair already halfway grown. Being this is my first time growing the rate at which they grow is amazing to me. Still in the same pots, using the same lighting, and also still using botanicare pro grow 3-2-4. One plant is seriously lagging but, def hanging in there.

Billy,

All the advice I've seen says if you have one that's coming in late or a little slow, try rotating your plants under the light, if it seems he's starting to catch up and another is slowing down, I would re arrange my lighting.

They're looking REALLY good though!

Plants are doing so well. Just watered today, the one plant iv'e been having problems with it growing retarded dead looking leaves is getting worse,im done with it I need more room in my closet anyways so I will be ripping it done tomorrow, just to give it time to see how it takes to the feeding. I have introduced the nutes slowly started with a little under full strength today, after slowly and I mean slowly introducing them to quarter strength and half strength. I will wait about another week and a half to flower tomorrow I will start LST on a few of them that are ready tomorrow after work. Same set-up same everything. Happy to say I definetly did run into a different strain out of my headie bag weed, the whole plant has that exotic leaf look with the cupped leaf around the edges of every plant, and no it is not a nute problem all the plants are fine and all ph's are checked this plant is just different and the cupping is very minute around all the edges, the stem also has purple spots. I am excited to see how she flowers. Pictures below guys, stay tuned. Any advice is always appreciated.

Great looking plants its awesome watching them grow up. I had the same "issue" with the plant perking up and laying down, scared the hell out of me but turnedout to be nothing. I can't wait to see them flower, do you know if their all females? Good luck with everything i will be following all their progress

Thanks for taking an interest. They are just bagseed from some real dank headie. They are not feminized but it came from a good strain so I would expect them to be female. They are less than 3 weeks old so it's way too early to tell ,i will flower them in about a week or week n a half, I want to tie them down to get some more main stems before I flower them as I'm growing in cfl's. So i need to do all I can to increase my yield. Granted were talking over 50,000 lumens which is more than enough for my space but still, who doesn't want more. Lst is the way to go to get more for your money and save space. I should know sex in about 3 weeks hopefully so keep checking in. I feel like I have a 75 percent chance being females. I make sure ph is always on point along with temperature and I pay very close attention to what my plants are doing to catch any problems before it gets out of hand.

Looking good, are you killing off the plant that has the jagged growth ?

Those plants usually fix themselves over time. I had one pretty badly deformed one too in my grow. It had to go as it was a real mess.

Nice grow, I'll be checking in on you to see how it goes.

Take Care

Yes sorry to say I pulled and tossed it. It was really bothering me how ugly it was, and the fact I was giving it constant care and it just grew more ugly by the day. Revenge is sweet, I felt horrible after, but I needed the room badly, and since I have pulled it and made more room my other plants have been doing much better. I have recently tied them down and FIM'ed them, the two i tied down that were getting a little too tall for my liking straightened back out that day, and now my lower new growth is reaching for the top very quickly so that was a success. I FIM'ed today a little new with that method so se will see how it goes. Other than that all is well and thanks for the feedback. I will post pics later of the customized plants.

All is well in paradise a few problems with humidity some of my leaves are pretty crispy at the bottom but I'm looking into ways to resolve it. A humidifier is just not fitting in the grow room, 400 watt hps is on its way in the mail plus I have over 325 TRUE watts cfl 2700 k for supplemental lighting during flower. Looking forward to what comes next, any comments or helpful tips is always appreciated.

the 4th pic of that plant received lst as you can see the bent stem the other ones were too but it is a hassle to get the plants back in and actually fit without bending stems n leaves plus im too lazy to do it right now. Next time i post pics I will do individuals and more detailed shots. The 5th plant was FIMed and so was the 2nd.

NOW the FIMed plants I had questions anyone that has ever FIMed before is this how it normally looks once it starts growing back, and also is it normal to take a while to bounce back, seems like it is taking a while. Thanks in advance.

My star player the unknown strain ,and the stinkiest. Anyone any idea what strain it's derived from indica or sativa, my knowledge on this matter is limited.

Today is the 21st and the kids are almost ready to be thrown into flowering, Just waiting for my 600 watt hps light and ballast to come in the mail. I now will have 600 watts HPS lighting and over 300 cfl for supp lighting. Everything is going good besides a few brown spots on the very bottom leaves of a few plants, and some crispiness but I am told this happens quite often to the first leaves due to a number of things such as major lack of light being one of them. Other than that only complaint I have is that this light needs to get here faster I literally running out of room for growth in the veg room so this light needs to hurry so they can go into the flower room and flourish. Any advice is welcome have not gotten any in a while.

Got the light today my dude, came with a hps bulb, and a mh bulb .Unfortunately the mh bulb was broke, but fortunately the bulb I need for flowering is the hps so I switched them to flower today. I am very excited, but a little concerned with the heat I will keep an eye on it and see if it is an issue. Thanks for staying tuned, will post pics of the new room and light later today.

Sweet deal. Funny how fate is that the hps didn't break. I wish i could help with the possible deficiency. But my experience is limited. I would say don't be too worried unless it spreads. Good luck

Everything is going good, things got a little hectic yesterday. I ordered a hps/mh light system online and it came in the mail, as I said the mh bulb was broke, then the next day I come home and the HPS is blown! So i bought a new HPS bulb and it would not work apparently the ballast that was only 24 hours old blew on me, and basically the moral of the story is be very wary when buying things online if it seems like too good of a deal it probably is you get what you pay for i guess. So I had to go to my local hydro store and buy a brand new 200$ magnetic ballast, I'm so pissed about this 200$ just for a ballast?! Ridiculous, but whatever gotta keep these girls going invested too much money to quit or cheap out now. Day 2 into flower I have been adding some epsom salt for what I think is a magnesium def, also adding a little 3% hydrogen to the water to give the roots a little more oxygen, some liquid karma and pro bloom, and last a very minute amount of dawn dish soap to get rid of these wretched pests, nothing serious but I have spotted a few and I'm tackling the issue now before it gets out of control. Thanks for the people giving their insight and rooting for me, I'm doing my best and it seems to be working pretty good. Thank you.

The first plant is a monster, straight up it has over 12 tops with my luck it will turn male, I really hope not cause i know it will yield alot plus I wouldn't mind cloning it, it's a very hardy plant. The rest of them are all doing perfect besides a slight magnesium def nothing serious, they look a little droopy cause I just watered them.I really have a lot of hope for these plants I have a feeling I will have 80% females. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me. Tonight will be day 3 of flower

So I am starting to have quite a few problems and really need help here, I post in the forums but no one has the decency to help someone in need.I may just be over reacting but it's always nice to know whats going on. I am 4 days into flower and all my new growth on all plants is very light green some spots even yellow, ik this is a sign of a nitrogen def but I was told large amounts of nitrogen hold back flowering.Im now using botanicare pro bloom which does have 1 part nitrogen, I recently added epsom salt and very minute amounts of dawn dish soap cause it looked to be pest problems not positive but better safe than sorry also added very small amounts of hydrogen to my water. 1 plant has serious def issues the leaf is turning gold color and folding upwards and drying out at first it was at the bottom but it is now spreading.Im checking ph right now looks to be about 6.4 so i doubt it's a ph issue.Idk what to do I have heard it is sometimes normal for plants to start eating fan leaves when put into flower but this problem has been happening since before flower, the one plant seriously looks like it has a gold leaf. Did I do something or is there some sort of def i cant pin point. Please any advice is welcome

Hey Billy.

I am having trouble opening the photos so I can see the problem better.

The first thing I would say is to check your PH and see if any nutes are being locked out.

287577

Once you get the PH correct you should be able to solve your issue by looking on google for a "plant problems pest disease control chart".

Hope this helps.

Yea ik I have not been able to enlarge pics for the past week something wrong with the site, my ph is in check around 6.5, I went to my local hydro store bought some clearex and some cal-mag gonna give them a good flush and introduce some cal-mag and see if that helps.Thank you for your insight

Well everyone I was looking at the plants today and found a female and also what looks to be a male, but cant be positive yet, the rest are looking to be female though, but again too early to be certain. Really hoping my monster plant ends up female though(which it looks like it may be) cause that will be my big yield if it is. Will post pics soon. Thanks

Update, the monster plant is a female!!!! So as of now 2 females 1 male, and im almost positive its male its making clusters at the node sites,i broke my phone which is why I have not been posting pics lately, and the phone I have now has a garbage camera so maybe when my girl gets home I will use her phone to show you guys so I know it really is a male. Thanks for the support everyone. I am so excited my biggest plant became female she has so many tops it's ridiculous she is gonna yield alot. See ya later

Another update on sexing. I know for a fact I have 3 females 1 male and 1 unknown as of now. The unknown one is also the unknown strain that is different from the rest of my plants. It is showing pre-flowers but as of this moment it could pop little hairs out of it. Or it will grow more and show me it's male, I am leaning towards male though unfortunately for the unknown strain which kinda sucks because it looks much like an exotic strain, and I bet would have gave me some pretty dank buds. Hey I started with 6, 1 of them I killed off because it was growing like a retard and now out of 5 I have 3 females possibly 4. That's not bad for some headie bag seed. Pics later guys. pc

Ok so it has been a while since I have gave an update, been really busy plus this site is pretty boring, and no one even helps you around here if you do have a problem. In the meantime I have been doing a journal on another site, everything is doing really good a few problems with those brown spots spreading not that bad though really. They have grown alot and really filling out nicely, also been growing some real nice looking buds the monster plant is obviously doing the best, the other two are also doing well but a little behind my all star chick. Watering every 3rd day and still using the same lighting 420 actual output cfl 2700 k, and 400 watts hps4700 k, all together 820 watts mixed spectrum and lighting and that is really working well for me. I vegged them with a 250 watt 6500k maxlume cfl, for a little over 4 weeks. I'm still using the botanicare line consisting of pro grow (for veg only, no longer using), pro bloom, cal-mag, sweet, liquid karma, and clearex with flushes. Thanks fopr following me along some pics will be up soon my phone is still broke and my girls iphone is garbage wont upload pics over 2 mb, sorry.

follow everything I did get quality stuff such as soil, ph meter( you can not grow without this, dont even bother trying),botanicare fertilizers, timer, keep a good watering schedule, a quality veg light of at least 250 watts possibly more depending on your grow area but that seems to do the trick, idk man just be consistent with what you do. Read stuff online, can't really tell you how to grow, but if you have any questions about problems I could be more specific. Make sure your getting good air circulation your living with your mom so I imagine that will be a problem for you,but it's gotta be done.

Looking good there Billy..

The plants seem to be going through a stretch. Have you thought of some low stress training ? This might be good to even out your canopy and let the light dissipate more evenly.

It will also give you more 'tops' as the lower branches start to get more light.

Nice little log going on :)

Take care

Billy,

Your looking good - Hopefully I'll catch up soon. You do need more LST/twisting/fim

If you would have FIM'd while topping, and topped twice in the process, you'd be about two weeks behind, but you'd have 3 massive short bushes instead of 3 trees. Check out my log and you'll see what I mean, I haven't topped at all, but I've taken several clones, and my plant is 1 month old, and I've already put her into flower (about 9" total) but only about 4" tall :D

Talk soon, I hope they yield well for you, take your biggest plant, and we'll compare that yield to my pineapple, see who wins :D

Oh, and I'm STILL only using CFL :D

But great job, looking good!

(Btw, sorry I haven't been around, got banned for mouthing off to toast)

Hey SL it's a lil too late for lst I believe i'm 3 weeks into flower,I did top one of them and it worked very well I have at least 6 main tops with many secondary ones. I did fim and I don'y know if I didn't do something right or whatever but it didn't really seem to do anything besides stunt growth and give me deformed leaves. As it was my first time topping I only did it to one plant. Next time I will be topping all of them numerous times cause it did wonders. What is twisting? From the pics you guys are looking at things have really changed I have not posted pics cause I have a little bullshit phone now. I just pulled out the digital camera today and I will post pics. I am definetley having some problems with yellowing and brown spots and dying leaves. Please check back with me later see if you can help me. How did your harvest go?

If anyone has any idea what the brown spots are excluding off PH and pests and overfeeding that would be very appreciated. I have already ruled those three out. I have no idea whats going on with them I'm losing leaves so rapidly if this keeps up I may be forced to harvest early. Unless I am under the wrong impression that if all the leaves fall off that the buds will no longer grow due to not taking in the light anymore. I know it's normal for some older fan leaves to yellow and die,but now the fresh leaves coming out of the buds are getting brown spots on them. I already tried epsom salt and cal-mag and nothing. One thing I have noticed is that when the lights go out and then come back on I can really notice more spots, so I believe the majority of it is happening in the dark cycle. I'm baffled it was really easy to veg them and everything was great, but once I switched the lights that's when the real test starts ,and you really start running into problems.

ya cause i had in with no light well general sunlight coming in de window and it spouted but that took about 3 weeks so I think ima try it propper now after de info u sent on hopefully it'll be a sucess like urs lol how's ur batch goin u still growing or budding?

budding for 3 1/2 weeks now, any problems let me know and ill do my best to help you, that guy low on my page is awesome with helping ppl also. So if im not around you can always ask him. But you really need to get some artificial light on em bro, it's winter well at least in ny and the sun is not that strong right now. Plus inside plants require inside light. For veg you dont need anything too serious go pick up some compact fluros the 23 watters seem to be the most efficient as far as lumens go, get enough to equal around 150-200 watts since you only have one plant and treat it well, cause unless it's a feminized seed it could be male so you gotta be careful with light leaks at night, what type of lighting schedule are you using bro?

Billy so glad you asked my opinion, much love.

Okay, check your temps, make sure you've got a thermometer recording the highs and lows, you can see that your leaf tips are pointed up, not just the brown ones, but the edges as well, they're burning. I think the hots might actually be hotspots, did you accidentally let the plants grow into the lights? I've seen these spots before too on my bubbles, they grew into the CFL's and I didn't catch it for a few hours.

If its not nutes or mights, it's gotta be the temps.

Also check your humidity, and... are you foilar feeding? (using a spray bottle) - Water can act as a magnifying glass (seen this as well), if your not letting your water sit long enough, you might also be seeing drying out from the partials that are left after the water has evaporated.

Wanted to add - bottom trich's are already looking rich! gonna be a nice smoke :D If need be, trim off your fan leaves, you don't really need them, but don't let that spread.

It averages 80-84 during the day and gets to about 65 at night. My cfl's are pretty close but who doesn't have their cfl's close. My hps light is about 14 inches from the top, I really don't know if it's a hotspot as it started at the bottom then worked its way up and it's weird cause one part of the plant will be filled with it, then another half of the plant will be fine. I am starting to wonder cause I have a mixture of happy frog and roots organic perlite mix, but I made a big layer of straight roots organic at the bottom for extra drainage, and from what I can tell the roots organic is pretty acidic so my conclusion came to the roots at the bottom are sitting in the roots organic which is pretty acidic like I said and messing with the ph in that area, which would explain the one part of the plant being fine and one part spotting cause just the roots on the very bottom are laying in the layer of the soil-less mix,and the rest of the roots are just in the happy frog. Im at a loss of ideas here I will try to back the lights up a bit see if that helps but I dont know if its that, and no I stopped foliar feeding once the first sign of buds showed. Let me know what you think about my idea

Also I really have no means of checking humidity,I always wondered that basically whatever my house's humidity is is what the plants are. Now let me add it's winter here in ny and my furnace is now running and ik furnace heat and winter air equals DRY DRY DRY. You think this could cause these spots?

I'd cover up the heat ducts in that room, and turn the bathroom exaust on....

Your cooking them - There should be a 5-10 degree difference in day/night cycles. Not a 20+ difference, so there is a small part, another one, is the ideal temps are 72-76 degrees. A good thermometer has an RH reading, this is room humidity (no, it isn't, it's relevant humidity, and no, this isn't edited, I'm high, so this is the shit I think in my head while I'm typing)

If the room is dry, yes, get some moisture in there, but the fact that your budding, you don't want it super moist, my cab is about 20%, I'm just building my new flower cab (DIY guide to come, maybe) and I'm going to keep that at about 20% as well. Could that cause the spots? Well, my BEST GUESS is a combination of the foilar feeding, the low lights (600w should be 18"), the high temps - Because you know if the room temp is 84, the plants closest to the lights are just under 100 - The lack of humidity and perhaps the roots, but if they're not leaking out the bottom hard core, I wouldn't be too concerned about that, but if your runoff is that acidic, I'm sure there are a few things you can do.

Just keep in mind, when you told me to give you my best guess, you told me to leave out nutes ;)

More pics!

No im ordering seeds next week figure I got at least another 4 weeks of flower maybe more, not sure what strains I'm gonna go for yet. Whats a good site, I plan on switching to DWC soon hopefully before my next grow, just wanted to see if I could be successful in soil first, some things went wrong this grow but it could have been alot worse, now I will never make that mistake again or twice. I want to get a few auto flower strains, and some regular cycle plants, and this next grow I will keep a mother plant to take clones Just wanna find which strain is worth cloning. Hey your absolutely right about the temp difference the exhaust fan is always going though, but its a bathroom with tile floor and the heat vent is closed so the tile gets pretty cold at night which is why there is such a big difference. And I'm not foliar feeding!! I did however raise the HPS light, but kept the cfl's the same I changed my water too. I figure change the things I have not to rule everything out to fix the problem instead of doing the same old thing wondering why the problem persists. My run off averages low 6 so the run off is decent remind you I put it in at a high 8 so next grow I will use much less roots organic soiless mix. Thanks for your insight dude, always a pleasure

I use the attitude - Some tips on your order, you can't successfully clone an auto flowering plant and expect it to grow, it will grow, but it will bud at the same time as the mom - Remember, the autoflower gene is in the genetics, its a timed release, not forced. You can still get quick flowering non autoflowering strains. Example is bubblicious, there is the normal strain which can be cloned, and the autoflowering strain. The auto finishes a few weeks faster, but the non auto yields more and can be cloned, non autos also react to topping better.

I build a carbon filter and I'm building a new flowering chamber now, I'm doing a DIY guide to the entire process, but I'm on my 4th or 5th joint break (I don't know, its all recorded) today, so a three hour job has gone, well, behind schedule... lol - Anyway, you'll be able to see how I handle some of these issues your dealing with now.

Also.... if its getting that cold in there because of the tile, use an electric blanket

Cmon now, I know I'm an engineer, but couldn't anyone have figured that out? :D Just teasin bro, but the electric blanked would be a good idea (maybe with a plastic drop cloth over the top... Cover your ass...)

Anyway, my new guide will be posted tonight, or tomorrow afternoon, depending on how many more breaks I take! :rasta:

I put a little heater in there keeps it at 70 degrees and the ventilation fan is running so it doesnt get hot and stale. Since backing the lights up and making sure my run off is at least a low 6 things have seemed to get better. The progression of the brown dots have def slowed down, idk if it is completely fixed but as long as I can make it to the end of the flowering cycle I will be happy. The plaants grow extremely fast and every time I come home from work the buds get bigger and more dense. I know the plants are healthy by the rate they are growing just those damed brown spots, as long as it finishes right I'm happy I guess they just won't look very pretty, but idc, I will be chopping them down soon anyway :)

I flush with extracts, depending on the strain - Like with my fiona, I'll be flushing with pineapple extract - Last feeding will be a boost of pineapple with a touch of mint.

You can get all sorts of extracts, good stuff to flush with :)

Good luck, can't wait to see the harvest!

Me and my girl broke up I'm not staying there anymore not only do I not trust her,but I would have had no way to care for them, it sucks bad but I learned alot from this grow and will be back to perfect my next one, this was just a trial run for me, I never really cared how much I got, although it would have been nice to let them finish and get more, I was almost at 6 weeks tho so like 2-3 weeks they prolly would have been ready anyways. But it def would have been nice to get too the swelling phase.

Hey I'm back so start following my grow again and give me as much info and help as possible. Basically the same thing as last time still using bag seeds from headie ounces, but this time I uped the ante. I now am growing in a 2 1/2X 4 1/2X 7 ft. grow tent, and I now have 10 plants instead of 6. I decided to go with the bag seed again just to get another grow under my belt, I had a few problems with unknown brown spots, so I obviously made a mistake somewhere down the line and I want to make sure Im at my best before I go growing seeds I paid for or autoflowers which is what I have my eye on, This time Im running a 600 watt MH for veg instead of the 200 watt cfl, so this is also a test for me to see which one really makes these plants flourish I'm also trying a new fertilizer called Infinity by Soul Synthetics which i guess is half organic and half synthetic, it's supposed to be better than liquid karma, lol we will see. I posted 3 pics so you guys can see what I'm working with and as always feedback is appreciated. Still using HF mixed with some roots organic soiless and perlite. As of now thats all I gott any questions feel more than welcome to ask, I'm hoping to get some more action on this site this time it was really boring last time around, and very hard to get any help.

I have a inline exhaust fan which was not in the pic at the time, with a 8ft, piece of metal tubing going directly next to the light so its sucking all the heat that comes of the mh bulb. It works alot better than i thought Im at a constant 78. From what im told thats the ideal temperature, if I kick my humidifier up it drops to 76. Ill be posting pics soon, thanks for taking an interest

So here is a few pics and an update, I retired the 600 watt MH bulb it was just too much heat and started burning my girls, plus I had to have it so far away the light intensity was terrible. Now I put my 250 watt MaxLume 6400K CFL bulb back in there along with two 2700K 55 watters, yes it's less lumens but It solves my heat problem and now I can keep those bulbs 6 inches from the plants so they are getting alot more light intensity, since I have switched bulbs the amount of growth is through the roof now, lesson learned High intensity CFLs is hands down the best and most productive way for seedlings. I know MH is better but for seedlings I disagree once they get rooted and get 4-5 good sets of leaves then yes the MH will be better for light penetration and will make them flourish. Thats about it any questions feel free to ask.

Note to self when re-using soil from previous grows. Flush soil numerous times before transplanting seedlings in it. My soil still had much residue from old fertilizer making my soil very hot, which in turn damaged the first set of leaves that sprouted. All the rest of the new growth is coming with no physical defects.

My only conclusion could be my soil mixture of happy frog and roots organic, the guy at the hydro store says it's a fungus in my soil. So i bought some FFOF, my only conclusion is I'm using the same soil mixture as before and running into the same problems, but earlier on this time. So tomorrow I am going to transplant into new soil. UGGHHH I hate transplanting, pretty scary. I ended up running into two deficiencies N and P. So there it is, dont get cocky cause you got a grow under your belt ,cause knowledge comes with experience, and i feel that ik alot of information about marijuana, but there is nothing better than hands on experience and reading your plant, and knowing what it needs which Im learning.

I guess dont go too heavy with nutes, but also dont be too modest, a happy medium is required. I have been foliar spraying with fulvex which is a life saver for deficiencies and works very quick and has over 70 trace minerals to help the uptake of npk and helps the overall nutrition of the plants..I hope this helps someone out there if they were to run into the same problem this is my purpose of such a detailed grow log alot of ppl hate helping ppl, and love watching them struggle I am not one of these ppl and I thank the ppl who have helped me.

Sorry guys, I know I have been slacking on the journal. Here is the update, I started flowering four days ago, and everything is going as good as it can. I transplanted them yesterday into bigger pots. Still using the botanicare line, and I gotta say I am very impressed with botanicare fulvex it saved my life and really helped my plants blow up. I am now running the 600 watt hps with 4 110 watt 2700 k bulbs for supplemental lighting. No major problems besides the plants gettin to big for their pots, which isn't always a bad thing, but it is def annoying next time I'm starting in 2 gallon buckets and going up to 5 for flower. By using the small pots and having to transplant alot def slowed my grow down, my last plants where bigger than the ones I have now, and they only vegged them for 4 weeks, but after running into the deficiency and having to transplant three times, it slowed down my growth. Hey I'm still learning too so I'm not too worried about it. Next grow I'm going with auto flowers and im going to be using ten gallon buckets, I want to do a test proving how much the pot size makes a difference in the size of the plant itself, and overall yield. All my plants except for a few have been topped, some have been topped four times, and are really bushy some grew back three tops. Out of all ten plants only two were males, so I must be doing something right, or I'm just extremely lucky, either way I think I'm really starting to understand these cannabis plants.

(these are all pics from the internet I do not grow or condone growing illegal cannabis plants and am following all regulations and laws that the state of NY has laid out before us)
