The spores are totally legal in the US except for California and Georgia. They are illegal when cultivated into mushrooms. Many websites that sell spores state the spores are to be used for "research" only and that they never be cultivated or consumed.

Is it still possible to buy dried mushies in Holland? Fresh ones in the UK are ok but not exactly great value for money for me. I seem to find the dried more potent/harder trip and they don't fuck my stomach up. Plus they were a fraction of the price in 'Dam than in Surrey, so a 'business' trip is definitely on the cards!

Last time I was in Tokyo, you could go into a headshop and buy shrooms and bud packaged and on the shelf. Different strains were sorted like candy on a rack!!!! There was a small sign that said "scientific specimens only" hahahaha ;)

Spores and spore syringes are legal in the US except Cali and Georgia and one other state. I've been growing for a while now its easy. but the minute you start to colonize a jar your illegal in the US. But its very easy go to www.thenook.org for info.

If you grow shrooms, is it possible to grow a "bad batch" that could make you ill or even die?? i know eating the wrong shrooms can kill you, but as long as you have the right kind, and they're not covered in mold, you're all set right?? i don't wanna take any chances...

If you practice basic lab-sterility procedures, you should be fine. Contamination is usually very noticeable if you look at the right places. Post high-definition pictures to reputable forums such as the shroomery (www.shroomery.org) and ask them on their opinion.

As long as you get your spores/syringe from a reputable source you'll be fine.
As far as contams go you should never grow out a cake with comtams so it shouldn't be an issue. The moment they appear toss the cake.
But you're right never eat any you pick unless you know an expert mycologist or you don't mind dying. And never eat moldy mushies.
