View Full Version : Resistings' Rubbermaid Grow
Resisting Nut

Hello everyone and welcome to my first grow log ever. Isn't my first grow, I've done several outdoor grows. I am currently using (2) 30 Gallon Rubbermaid boxes. I have 7 Daylight CFL and 1 other CFL that I canâ??t remember the kind of right now. I am working with a passive intake, which causes great negative pressure. I have a 90 degree elbow down at the bottom with an old xbox fan hooked up to it blowing air directly into the box and a PC fan venting the hot air at the top by the lights.
I currently have ONE plant that is doing really well. It is about 3 weeks old and is really starting to take off. More and more growth every day! The other one wasnâ??t doing so well, so I took a risk and transplanted it from the shit soil that it was in to some Fox Farm Ocean blend which I am using for both my plants. They seem to really like it. Watering about ever 3-5 days now on the older plant.
Maybe I am just going crazy but it looks like my plant that is doing the best is already showing some pre-flowers of some kind. If I can get a good enough photo using my iphone, ill post one up.
Everyone stay tuned for this grow! I am hoping everything turns out well, I am thinking of starting some LST here in a few weeks. Right now she is too bushy to even begin LST. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure! Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
On another note, does anyone have an idea of how I could light proof this box with the PC fan at the top? I was thinking of going to buy some black tarp today, possible some dryer vent tubing and running that to the attic above the grow room.

Here are some pictures from this morning, new growth can be seen everyday.
Question: Should I trim up the lower set of leaves that are coming in at the nodes or just leave them? Also this looks more Indica to me, can anyone help me with that? How does she look so far?

Things have been going well over here. One of my sativa dominant plants turned out to be a male, so he was pulled up and thrown away. I now have 1 confirmed Indica dominant plant. She has been in flower for about 9 days now, and so far she has a total of 4 white hairs coming from the top of her two new leaves. She has been topped to better suit the growing environment she is in. Here is a picture, more to come soon. I will be transplanting her in a few days to a 2 gallon bucket.

Here are a few more pictures from today. Pulled her out to check for male parts, none there. Just making sure I dont have a hermie. Almost 14 days into flower, you can really see the buds starting to develop now. She is really starting to show! Leaves are getting some THC on them which looks dank. Does anyone know if I should trim up my plant to allow for more light to hit the buds?

Just a quick update: I mixed up some bloom solution yesterday, at 1/4 strength. I just barely used any of the chemical solution and mixed it with a gallon of water, for a strength of 2.25-13- 2 NPK. You can barely tell the solution has anything in it. I wanted to make sure that I dont burn the plant. As this is my first grow, I am just experimenting with what works the best and if it doesn't work, what I could do differently. The Bloom solution I am using is something i've had laying around the house since I worked at my last plant nursery job.

I BELIEVE it is 9-59-8. That is why I diluted so much. I've read a lot about people using this kind of solution. If anyone could offer any feedback that would be awesome. I've been trying to do as much homework as I can regarding bloom solutions.
Thanks for following, and as always, comments/suggestions/tips/tricks are always always welcome!

So today I am going out of town, this will be the real test I guess you could say. I have watered it with some regular water and then with 1/3 cup of nutes at 1/4 strength. I am not trying to burn the plant up or anything, this grow has been going so well I dont want to mess anything up by adding excessive amounts of nutrients. I have all the time in the world and just want to do this grow the right way, so I can have the best smoke!
On another note, you can see the frostyness starting to build up on the fan leaves. It looks quite sexy. The buds are starting to form, I can see little green nug like shape under all those white hairs. It looks super super sexy. I can't wait to check it out after 3 days of being gone, I'm sure ill notice a difference. It seems like everyday it is developing more and more. Looking at it everyday, you can honestly see the amount of growth. For instance, yesterday I hardly saw any of the frostyness on the fan leaves, but this morning when I looked, the fan leaves are starting to gather THC. Which is frickin awesome.
I am just rambling at this point. To much coffee on an empty stomach. I am going to go to the greenhouse at school and check on my transpiration project now. I am a Plant Biotechnology major at some college in one of the 50 states in this great country.

Well fuck, I ended up leaving town and getting back to a drooping fucking willow plant for a cannabis plant. It looks like my temperatures got up and dried the soul out is what I am coming to the conclusion of. There is a lack of turgor pressure, and the leaves are not dried up but they are droopie as ever. I gave it some water and added a fan to my passive intake.
I'll post pictures here in the next hour or so.

Things are really looking up over here. I have been kinda absent for a little bit, due to school. Since I have some time today I snapped some photos of the girl. She is really starting to fatten up. I am proud of this grow so far, especially since things have been going well thus far, and its my first grow. I am learning a lot.
