TOPPING THEN FLOWERING

I believe i may have let my plant veg too long. Its about 1 1/2 foot tall and my grow flower box will be 4ft tall 4ft long and 40 inches wide will this be enough? Light are cfl and will be hanging and in standing lamps. I planned on starting flower tommorrow but i was wondering if i could top today then still flower the next day? Or should i give it time to recover? I don't want to wait too long and have it grow taller. Thanks for any help this forum has been great for me so far.

Or could i cut off the top 2-3 nodes and try for a clone?

i would not top stuns growth by weeks... if its 1.5 ft then its goin to be no bigger than 3ft when in flower and you have 4ft so your good just keep the cfls. close 2 inch. this stops the plant from streching.. :rastasmoke:
