View Full Version : Drug test in a few days...
Hey everybody! Ever since I went in to my second interview, the HR person told me that I will have a physical and drug screen a week from the day if I'm offered the job. Of course I played off as no problem, but in my head, I'm like HOLY SHIT!!! I smoke pretty much everyday for 11 years! Anyways, after going through the interview process, I immediately starting doing research on how to beat it. Scouring the net, there was so much conflicting info, my head was about to turn. Then I found this forum, and start reading the dilution process, which made a lot of sense to me scientifically.
Of course I didn't smoke before I went in to my interview, so I figured I had a full week abstaining from smoking. Not a lot of time at all, but at least its enough time to work with. So today, I received the call that I'm offered the job pending a physical and drug screen. I was happy, but still knew that this pending drug screen has a lot riding on it. So I went to the store and bought the things listed in the Dilution sticky (aspirin, Powerade, creatine supplements, steak, multivitamins, and a 5 day cleanse product just in case. May get certo just in case). I hear a lot about substituting, but that seems way to risky to me. You never know what the lab is going to do. So right now I believe that stopping taking my weight management supplements may be the smart thing to do, since I don't really want to shed fat at this moment. I'm not gonna lose 50 pounds in 4 days, so what the point of trying to run if I want my urine sample needs to be as clean as possible. I'm loading up on creatine, and drinking more water than usual. Not loading up on it, but I don't think it doesn't hurt having a little more water than you're used to. So my plan of attack is not work out like I have been doing. To give you a little background, I'm 5'11, 250 male, muscular, but definitely some fat. Think of a NFL linebacker. I have lost 40 pounds in the past few months with working out constantly. But I hear that not working out helps in the THC not showing up in my urine. And with not working out, eating like shit helps to not shed fat that holds the THC to show in your body to show in the urine when you're shedding fat. I definitely do not like that fact since I've been so good with my diet and come to love working out. But getting this job is the most important thing at the moment. So with doing that, I'm goning to start with the creatine loading, (10 pills a day) and eat red meat for at least 2 meals every day before the test. Then I will go through a test run on Sunday or monday (today is Friday) to simulate the day. Since it is at 930, I will wake up at 4-5 am, and start the dilution process. I'll probably starting popping aspirins the afternoon before the the test run, and the actual test. And fortunately, a friend of mine had 2 DOT test strips, which I believe are medical grade.
Any guidance will be awesome, and I'll definitely post my results when that time comes. Thanks!

If youre going the Dilution route, skip the aspirin step because its considered outdated tech. The final post in the Dilution "sticky" thread will tell you why.
Forget the certo as well as the 5 day cleanse because they do nothing to rid the body of THC - youre just wasting time and money.
I hear a lot about substituting, but that seems way to risky to me. You never know what the lab is going to do. What is it about the lab that worries you into foresaking substitution?
Nothing really. I do have a donor who will give me clean urine. I'm just worried if they have me strip, and/or have someone in there with me. But from reading different people's threads, it seems that labs generally don't do that. But there seems to be some success with the dilution method. But at the same time, being an everyday smoker for years, and being slightly overweight should of concern.

Yes it should be of great concern, given your stated pattern and duration of usage. Dilution techniques can backfire if the THCA concentration in the bladder is too high. For most longtime daily users, it would be virtually impossible to dilute that concentration enough without sending the creatinine and S/G into such a downward spiral that it would raise the red flags at the lab.
Thanks for the info Toast. Maybe you can answer this for me. So if I did a test run with the dilution process with the testing strip, would the strip come up negative, then read positive in a lab given my usage?

So if I did a test run with the dilution process with the testing strip, would the strip come up negative, then read positive in a lab given my usage?
Yes it can because the dilution phenomena is only temporary - once the fluids ingested had all been urinated out, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine by the kidneys, and thus youre right back to square one. The same also holds if you were to test yourself with a THC test kit tonight after a dilution "practice drill", then taking another THC test kit tomorrow in, lets say, the late morning, or afternoon, or later.
BTW, when doing dilution practice drills, you should have some validity test kits at hand so you can keep tabs on your creatinine and S/G. These inexpensive kits can be found online by doing a Google search for "drug adulteration test kits"
Is it possible that I can use the excuse that I've been bulking up on creatine? I'm a big muscular guy. And they wouldn't know what I looked like a year ago. And given my bulk, excessive creatine could be an explanation on how I that big.
And to clarify my question, I was more looking for an answer that the testing center will have a more elaborate testing kit for my urine. Lets say I'm clean with the test kit I have with my test run, even with my usage, as you said, dilution might not work. And I follow the same process the day of the testing. Because of their better testing methods, would it still come up dirty? Basically, if I put a cup of warm water in the testing strip, would it come back negative or N/A?
As for the adulteration kit, I'm not sure I will have time to get, since it is the weekend, an Monday is a holiday.
Also, it's a physical and drug screen. I don't know what they'll do first, and that's why I'm almost hesitant to do the substitution if they decide to make me drop my drawers touch my balls and make me cough, or lay me down and the doctor makes me raise my leg or something like that.

I dont understand what youre trying to get at here. Creatinine levels (elevated or diminished) have no bearing upon whether you test postive for THC or not. Creatinine is checked (along with S/G) to determine an overly-diluted urine sample.
That question has been answered already in post #6. As stated, it applies to both - the home kits and the kits used at the lab.
Basically, if I put a cup of warm water in the testing strip, would it come back negative or N/A?
It would register a negative on a test kit that checks for drug metabolites.
But when a validity test is run, it will not fly. Straight tap water will cause the creatinine and S/G to be diminished to the point to where the sample will be ruled "not consistent with human urine" .
Thanks for the info Toast. I think I'm just gonna go in with both options, with substituting being the #1 option. I'll let you know how goes.
Just want to give you guys the update. I substituted successfully at a pre-employment drug screening. Here was my experience:
So at first, I was going to do dilution, but after serious consideration, decided that substitution was the surest way to pass this test. So after testing my substitution method, and finding a donor, I went to the office for a 930am visit. During my test, I figured that putting the bottle in my buttock was the best way to go about it, since during the time of my testing, I was able to maintain a 97-98 degree temperature of the urine for a significant amount of time. So I decided to drive to the office with keeping the bottle in my buttock to keep it warm, but having a thermostat of warm water in the car just in case (thank god I did that, this was my saving grace). This was a mistake, and I'll explain. As I get to the parking lot of the office, I take a temp of the pee and it was too low! Around 91 degrees! So I had to rush to a gas station, and feel my thermostat up with warm water, test the temp, and put the bottle in the thermo for 5 minutes to get it back up. I was able to get it back to 98 degrees, so I felt confident that my body heat would keep around that temp. So I go into the office, and wait in the waiting room for about 30 min. The nurse called me in, and took my vitals (this was a physical exam too). She thought my irregular heartbeat was particular, which I attributed to having a lot of coffee that morning. But in actuality, I was nervous as hell. So she led me down a hall to go take my drug screen. She gave me the bottle, and led me to a bathroom, where I was able to shut the door (YIPPEE!). I grab the bottle from my buttocks, and poured the pee in the cup. I had a 2.5 oz bottle, and that was more than enough. Poured the urine in, and put the bottle in my sock, and I was done. Gave the urine to the nurse, and she looked at the temp. This was the scary part. It barely made it at 91 degrees! I was really relieved, but realize that my error in the morning could of cost me. Luckily it didn't. So had to go into the room for my physical. Luckily, I was given time to myself in the exam room, which I was able to transfer the bottle to my pants pocket. Had to take off my pants for the exam, so it was perfect for me to just store the bottle there. The doc too was little concerned with my irregular heartbeat, but again, attributed to having coffee, and said I have a phobia of going to the doctors, but knew I had to do this. So went through the physical. After I was done with that, I was sent on my way. So after a couple days of speculating, got a call from HR, to tell me everything is good! I start on Monday!
If I were do it over again, I would definitely leave the bottle in the thermostat, and go in with the pee around 102 degrees. And I would probably smoke a bowl (LOL) to calm my nerves, or take a couple shots, just so there's no red flags. I'm not saying you do that, but just something to think about to go in to calm your nerves if you're doing a physical too with your drug screen.
So another battle won against the powers to be that want to prevent us from enjoying our freedom to burn. Its such BS that folks can do such hard drugs, and all they have to do is lay off it for a few days to piss clean, and the least harmful and addictive drug is the one that comes up the most. But anyways, it is what it is, and I did what I had to do. I would like to thank this forum for all the info. And I would especially like to thank Burnt Toast for the wealth of info that he provided to me, which proved to be the deciding factor in what I was going to do. As you see in the first post, I was going to go with dilution. But with Toast's info, it gave me the direction I needed to go. So I tested my dilution method, and was able to find a test that test everything (all drugs w/gravity, creatine, PH Levels, temp, etc) that he said I should try. With that test, it showed that my urine, even though it came up clean with all the drugs, the S/G test came back not good. So I knew it was substitution I had to go with. So I followed the Sub primer on the sticky, and practiced, practiced, practiced. Even with that practice, I almost came up short, but was still good enough to get the pass. So if you're reading this, learn from my mistakes. So again, I'm forever in depth to this forum for getting me this job. I didn't burn for the week leading up to the test. But right after, went to my local dispensary, got some great chron, and burned all day. Toast, you're the man, and thank you again for your help and guidance.
