Here's my story:
Sup guys/gals-

So I was wondering if someone can please help me out here. I'm about 5'6, 154 lbs. I stopped smoking since June 25th because I knew I would have a drug test in the next month or so. Before I quit, I was a regular smoker (or does it consider heavy?) and smoked about 1 gram a day (and that is a good over estimate) 4 or 5 days a week straight. I did this for about 2 months straight and used a volcano vaporizer.

For two weeks straight I pretty much just ate vegetables and drank protein shakes and exercised a few times here and there (nothing intense, but some good cardio). I also drank a LOT of cranberry juice, water, and took vitamins daily (B-12, 5-HTP, multi vitamin, and vitamin E). I then decided to go take a test for myself at a clinic and gave them my second urine of the day and still failed (barely, but nonetheless failed). The level he measured at was for 50 ng.

I have to admit, after I failed the first test, I didn't eat as well for about a week or two, but still have been somewhat active and plan on going back to my diet once again.

It is now July 25th and I have a drug test coming up next week. My question is, do you think I will be good by then? Also, why do people recommend drinking 32 - 36 oz of Gatorade vs Water before the test? Would you recommend I drink Gatorade or water without the vitamins? Or with? And should I urinate at 5 times before the actual test?

Thank you all.

Now I took a self test on the 30th. Didn't dilute or anything and the company I tested with is the same company that my employer will use. Should I even have to worry at all, or plan on even diluting just a bit?

The reason why Gatorade is recommended over water during dilution techniques is because it helps in the specific gravity department.

Labs look for overdiluted samples by checking both the creatinine and specific gravity for low numbers. Drinking a bunch of water lowers the creatinine and S/G to where the sample can get flagged for being too dilute. Therefore, when utilizing dilution techniques, an effort must be made to keep the creatinine and S/G within the satisfactory ranges. The steps to be taken to accomplish this is all outlined in N2s Dilution "sticky" thread.
