First grow still not complete (just one month into flower, two months from seed), but I already have plans for second. In the process of building a 2x3x5.5 grow closet/box. I have a 400w MH/HPS cool tube already bought and on the way from ebay. I have ordered seeds from Additude - 10 regular Nirvana Master Kush and 1 fem Attitude Seeds Ice Kush... the stealth order (with t-shirt) included the following free seeds... 1 UFO #1 Dinafem feminized Blue Hash, and 2 Dinafem feminized Blue Widow. Both the light and the seeds should arive sometime next week. The plan is to put the Ice Kush and/or the Blue Hash un-topped in my existing 150w 2x2x3 box and do 12/12 from seed (just to get some smoke), and put the 2 Blue Widows (super cropped) in the new scrog box under the 400w HID. After this does/or does not work, germinate 4 of the Master Kush seeds then take a single male and female (when sexed) into the small box and 12/12 them together to get a supply of seeds, then take the rest of the females (if any) and put them in the big box and try to scog them (again just to get some smoke). When its all said and done I plan to keep scrogging the MK and every now and then ordering new strains to experiment with. This will be an ongoing thread as I still haven't recieved all my supplies. This is the plan but this may or may not work... after all I also planned on winning the lottery by now and that hasn't turned out so well either. :D
Here are a few pics of the new box I am building..

The HID arrived today. I ordered a 400w... I recieved a 600w MH/HPS grow light. Needless to say the seller got in-fucking-credible feedback! Cool tube, both 600w MH and HPS bulbs, a 600w Ballast (tried to get a pic but didnt turn out), and a bonus of two hangers and a timer. Went to Lowes and bought some ducting and ordered a 160 cfm inline fan on ebay (Lowes didnt have them).

First grow not turning out as planned. 4 females (100% of my crop) have turned hermie. Yes they were stressed a LOT! Bad but good... bad because no sensimilla, but good cause the experience provided lots of education and tons of feminized seeds (provided things continute... I still have at least a month till grow 1's harvest).

Did I mention the light cost me $130 U.S. shipped? :D Now just waiting for the Adittude seeds to show up...

You got lucky for sure. Your plants are gonna love those lights.

Lets just hope the reviews for Attitude Seeds meet the expectations. After my order (placed on 7-18-12) I received a tracking number but that was unfortunatley only good with Englands Royal Mail, once it leaves the UK apparently its all hopes and prayers.

Hello, The plant has been growing very nice. The thing is ....how long does it take before the buds start coming. Im very new to this what does "flowering" mean. Its very nice and bushy. It seems to be very healthy, from what I can tell. Its been growing for atleast 7-9 months. Ive got nothing. Please, I would really like some feed back on this. Thank you everyone for ur help.

I'm not exactly a seasoned grower, but I'll answer as best I can. Flowering is the stage in the plants life where it starts to produce the buds. If your growing indoors under lights you will need to change your light schedule to 12 hours on and 12 hours off to start the flowering process (a light tmer is the best way to do this). The 12 hours of darkness simulates the natural fall hours of daylight and tells the plants its time to start producing seeds. You can start this 12/12 light cycle anytime you want... the sooner you start the quicker you have buds, but the longer you wait the bigger the plants and the bigger the buds. Mostly it depends on your growing space and how much room you have. If your growing outdoors you'll just have to wait until nature takes its course. Hope that helps.

Now for a question of my own. I am having trouble getting my temps down. Light is a 600w MH/HPS cool tube, the 6" inline fan is a 160cfm, and the box is 2x3x5.5. With no other ventilation and using only the cool tube the temp is 100 degrees. Obviously way too high. I added a small vent at the bottom of the box and will add an exhaust fan attached to an odor filter at the top of the box. What size fan will I need to properly kill the smell and will it be enough to drop the temps?

Still no luck on the seed order btw... I ordered the 18th and the tracking number shows it still being held at ISC New York. Fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed!

it took awhile for me to get my seeds from the uk, but i got them. idk about your light problems, it seems like you might need a a/c to cool them down idk if fans will work. as long as you have a/c in that room fans should work though. if it's just a hot ass room then hell nah.

Thanks jiggsaw, but I have an AC unit. I live in a 12x24 (U.S. feet... this is an international site so dont know where your from) log cabin with a window AC unit. It does great cooling the house for my comfort, however the grow box is more suitable for fried eggs then Master Kush. Running the 160cfm fan through the 6" ducting only reduced the temps by about 10 degrees (from running the same light in the unventilated box before the fan arrived today). Granted I am in the US Southeast in July where the current outside temp is about 90 degrees with near 100% humidity (its freakin HOT!), but I would like to grow my ladies year-round not just in the un-human temps the summertime US Southeast can provide. (BTW I hope your right about the seeds... I'm getting a bit worried.)

Gonna try somethig different. I mounted the fan inside the box so that it will hopefully blow out some of the heat (plus it vents the box too). I'll find out in about an hour if its going to help.

Well it helped... dropped the temp down to 90. I guess thats as good as its gonna get. I put a couple fans in there too. I went ahead and put the 4 bagseed plants (they are 33 days into flower) under the new 600w. They were under a 150w, not sure if the extra light will help in this stage or not, but we'll see.

one of the biggest problems you have going is there is no exhaust other than for the light itself, the box is going to need a fan pumping out the heat the light is throwing off otherwise the box will become a oven, theres 2 things you can do to make it work more efficient.
i saw you had a 90 degree angle duct, on the outside of your grow cab place that facing upwards on the vent that pushes the hot air out, forcing the air upwards keeps it from re-entering so you dont keep recirculating hot air.
this next step is up to you, theres 2 options, the 2nd option is far easier, but option one works well too.
disconnect the vent from the cab that lets in the fresh air, remove that end from the cool tube as well, we are leaving the end of the tube open so air from the inside of the cab gets removed as its stale air as it stands now, cut 4" hole at the bottom of one of the walls opposite the out-take vent, this is your new air in-take.
air now flows from the bottom side of the cab into the chamber then exits out the cool tube thus exchanging all the air inside the unit keeping it much cooler and running more efficient.
OPTION 2
simply add a out-take fan in the middle on the back wall of the cab slightly below the light, the radiant heat from the light can now escape the cab keeping it cooler.

Thanks but I dont think you have read the entire post (no worries, I'm guilty of posting while drunk too. ). I have already put the cooltube fan inside the box and there is already a vent in the back. As I said, doing that dropped the temps 10 degrees. I was thinking about doing what you suggested... dropping the fan from the inside top of the box to about halfway down (under the light) about canopy level. I think that might drop the temps even more. I dont want to cut more holes for fans if I dont have to... the lower the light bill the better. Also trying to keep it as light proof as possible (trying to stay stealthy). As it is right now there is no visible light during daylight hours and its only a slight leak reflecting off the back wall at night.

Well I ordered the seeds from Attitude July 18th, they got to New York on the 21st, sat there till the 31st, and arrived at my house TODAY! Mes a happy camper! lol. Put the two Blue Widows in the paper towel zip lock, but when I gently squeezed them to check them out, one sounded like it cracked. You think it will still germinate?

Well I got some good news and some bad news... The bad news is of the two Blue Widow seeds, only one germinated. The good news is... one germinated! lol (see pic below)
Because I planned on putting two plants in the new box I started to germinate the other feminized freebie seed... the Blue Hash.
