Hi folks,

New to the thread - and trying to separate fact from fiction - my card is in process, so I'm hoping that all goes well. But - I've got a friend who is also in the MM program and has apparently had NO problems getting his medicine from 1 or 2 providers here in Albuquerque......and I've been reading bits and pieces about there being a "shortage" of medicine in the Albuquerque area?? Which is true? Without sparking a huge debate about the State's role in production - I'm just wondering if anyone else is having any issues?.....or is there enough out there to help current and new patients?

Thanks in advance.....

I never had any problems with getting my meds. Myself, I like using Minerva. Check out this NM link if you haven't already. nm-mcpa.org

Welcome to the program. When you receive your card you will receive a list of the producers. It is your responsibility to contact the producers with whom you wish to do business. You will need to go through the list and contact each one. You will then need to complete a type of "membership" application with HIPAA acknowledgement and more information that you will sign and return to each. Once they receive your app, you should hear back from them within a week. Some sooner, some longer. They each have their own procedures, most ask for your patient ID # before they will give you any info. Some have websites where you can check them out.

I would suggest that you register with all of them. That way if you call one and they are out, you can continue on until you find one that has availability.

Good luck!!
