I have to give a urine sample for a life insurance application soon and am planning to sub. I can either use my girlfriend's clean urine or synthetic urine from Spectrum labs. Does anyone have a recommendation? Do insurance companies screen differently than pre-employment tests?
Thank you in advance.
Kermit.

If your GF is able to give you a clean sample, why not use that and save your money?

Well, that was my plan, but I was just wondering if they would screen for traces of things that would not match my profile. My reasoning being that an insurance test is about more than testing positive for THC. Do you know what a standard insurance urinalysis screens for? They're coming to my house to take blood, urine and measure me. I presume they will simply hand me a cup and i will go into my own bathroom and give them the sample so I can do pretty much whatever i need.

I have never been tested for drugs on an insurance urine screen and consequently always use my own, dirty urine. I have also never been asked to give urine during pre-employment for insurance testing either. That's usually something your existing employer asks for. Every single employee who wanted reducde insurance premiums at my hospital was screened this year for cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. this year. Not a one was tested for drugs.

They are looking for pre existing condition so that if you get sick they don't have to cover you. Usually if all they do is check your urine its best to use a synthetic urine, that way they can't find anything wrong with you. But if they're doing the blood test then the urine test doesn't really matter. Before taking the test they should have a paper for you to sign that says what they are going to test for. I would never sign on with an insurance company that wants to determine if you have pre existing condtitions. We all have pre existing conditions of one sort or other. Isn't that why we buy medical insurance? More of capitalism destroying our health.
