With all the fires lately people will start revolting against allowing small grows. The people STEALING electricity will go to jail and deserve to be there! It is so sad that we get a little bit and IDIOTS and GREEDY IDIOTS want to ruin it for all. Lately you can't turn the news on without hearing about a fire, it really isn't that hard to do things right.
For people that refuse to call an electrician....
Voltage * amperage = watts. which means watts / voltage = Amps....
1000 watt light / 115 volts = 8.69 Amps. That is real clase to actual draw. If you put 2 of these lights in your bedroom you are already over the limit. Bedrooms are wired in 14 guage wire (15 amps) + there are other rooms and lights on the circuit. Some garages are wired in 12 guage (20 amp) others in 14 guage, if not 100% sure call an Electrician. So as you can see even if you are on a 20 amp circuit 2 lights is over 17 amps......not worth it, not worth killing a neighbor either. Some will say 12 wire is good for 25 amps, are you sure the Electrician that wired the house didn't make a nick anywhere? Just my 2 cents and not even a plug....

I ran a dedicated 10ga 220 line to my grow room. Only one 1000w light and 3 fans.
A simple test to see if you're running too much power on a single line is to let it run for a few hours and then tough the line. If its warm at all you definitely have a problem and even if it isn't warm you can still have a problem. Do the math. Its simple to do and can save you quite a mess. Don'yt be using extension cords. Thats usually the biggest mistake people do. Keep plenty of hard wired plugins in the room you're growing in to get rid of any extension cords. The longer the line the more the resistance. The more the resistance the hotter it gets. Heat = fire.
